V
Friend called lets go to joes bar for a round
breakup had got me down
He said folks waving at me
met them at a private party last week
Returns with a lady introduces me
With her sparkling eyes feel there’s chemistry
I don’t need to drown my troubles tonight
Things looking up and will tdurn out right
Ch
I said hello there,
She leaned to whisper in my ear
Over the barroom noise
all I could hear is“whiskey”
V
Hey bartender pour us a round.
She said, no thanks I live across town
Her girlfriend said we should go
her goodbye was short she let me know
Ch
It was her whisper not very clear
Barroom noise hard to hear
If not whiskey in that whisper
What could it be
V
My buddy said .. you’ll see her again
She slipped me her number said pass it to him.
The jukebox started playing an old time melody
Song about a gal withy red lips then I heard kiss me
Ch
It was her whisper not very clear
Barroom noise hard to hear
Wasn’t Whisky I know now
I finally figured it out
Outro
We left the bar headed the cars in the street it came to me
misheard whisper the only words it could be Kiss Me!!

A Night We’ll Never Forget
By Randy McClendon, Jeff Riley & Brad Hatcher

Tonight the Bartender was the incessant talker
Juke box played some old Jerry Jeff Walker
Conversations ranged from weddings & anniversaries
birthdays, big games, fishing trips and beautiful dames
The said “He had it all”
Chorus
Latch onto the friends that are true, the chosen few
Do the things you want to do, before your life gets away from you
And let your dreams come true. Let you dreams come true.

When they played his most famous song,
Tears in their eyes, as they sang along
A haunting requiem, a most familiar theme
Now it seems like it just a dream

This is an instrumental song, so there are no lyrics.
It is intended to be a meditation for the Christmas Season. It starts out w a gentle sound evocative of a snowfall. It gains in intensity, and then slows down again as the snow subsides...or maybe you're getting sleepy by the fireside....

Campaign Sloguns

CH; It's the economy, stupid.
It takes a village idiot.
Read my lips, "no new taxes"
1. Can I see your license and registration?
We need to pass a test to drive a car. Only 007 had a license to kill
but he was fiction.
We need to stand our ground
If we're gonna win this war.
CH; It's the economy, stupid.
It takes a village idiot.
Read my lips. "No new taxes."
BR: Yes, I know it's complicated.
It's about mental health and
economic wealth distribution.
Someone's right to own a gun
shouldn't trump my right to live.
Read my lips.
It's also about the guns..
3. The highest crime rates are
in the red states.
And the speaker of the house's
state is number one.
It's more about crackin down,
than staring down
that Cracker Barrel.
Read my lips.
It's also about the guns.
CH: It's the economy stupid.
It takes a village idiot.
Read my lips.
It's also about the guns.
4. Annunciation started
their school year
With a mass shooting during mass.
We need more than
thoughts and prayers.
They were shot while
they were praying.
We need politicians who care
and offer more than
campaign sloguns.

Deep Fried lyrics/music Gene K Stewart
I still remember coming home, after Sunday meetin',
Couldn't wait to get to the table, where soon I would be eatin'.
The food prepared by Mama's hand, she'd worked so long and hard,
To make those heapin' helpin's of Chicken fried in Lard.
Chorus
Oh nothing ever tasted quite so wonderful to me,
Nothing ever meant more than the love of family.
Take my advice and give yourself life's tastiest reward,
And deep fry everyone you meet, in the Love of the Lord.
The years have come and mamas gone, but I can still recall,
The smells from mamas kitchen, how much she loved us all.
And in my families eyes I see, moms Blue Ribbon Reward,
Came when she Deep Fried all our hearts, In the Love of the Lord!

2025
VERSE
The white stone walls are wasted and crumble.
Our bed, your picture lost in the rubble.
Wasn’t always this way - there was happiness too.
VERSE
With a sweep of my hand push the bomb dust away,
Crank the victrola ‘til sound fills the space.
In all of this madness - I still dream of you.
CHORUS
Aleppo, is music and starlit views.
Sacred nights where our love grew.
Where we danced for hours in this single furnished room.
Aleppo, for me will always be you.
VERSE
Forty years and we were never strangers.
How could we know there’d be this much danger.
Wasn’t always this way – but seeds were sown then bloomed
VERSE
Your hand in mine we ran through the streets.
Sirens blaring you fell next to me.
In all of this madness – I suddenly knew . . .
CHORUS
Aleppo, is empty with a somber truth.
Sacred nights where our love grew.
Where we danced for hours in this single furnished room.
Aleppo, for me will always be you.
VERSE
I’m sitting here in the sweater you made
Blown out windows, Kuzoff’s aria plays
Wasn’t always this way – so I dream of you.
CHORUS
Aleppo, is music and star lit views.
Sacred nights where our love grew.
Where we danced for hours in this single furnished room.
Aleppo, for me will always be
Aleppo, for me will always be you - you

I cant wipe your face
October
Ron Tintner and Andrew Richardson
2025
This puzzle doesn't fit together
Sunburn in the rainy weather
All weird angles
Nothing works
we’re miles and miles apart
Business casual , army surplus
Clowns each from a different circus
A piece of work became a work of art
Glass is breaking
Walls are shaking
Hope You’ll stay a while
Cos I cant
wipe your face off my smile
Party next door got too boring
So I crashed yours, I broke the door in
Someone saw
I Said I was friend of a friend
I don't know how we started talking
I brushed you off said just keep walking
We spoke for hours, now I cant pretend I don't want you here
Glass is breaking
Walls are shaking
Hope You’ll stay a while
Cos I cant
wipe your face off my smile
I don't understand it
We could never have planned it
Glass is breaking
Walls are shaking
Hope You’ll stay a while
Cos I cant
wipe your face off my smile
So your place, my place
I don't care
We can be most anywhere
What we find if we don't change our minds
Glass is breaking
Walls are shaking
Hope You’ll stay a while
Cos I cant
wipe your face off my smile

Waves of the river lapping at the door
In the darkness its hard to believe anymore
The pink of dawn brings flashlights shining
Rescuers arrive in divine timing
Chorus
Many hands make light work they say
Who the hell are they anyway
They’re the ones who make darkness recede
And the light work indeed.

A battered woman arrives at the shelter
Shaking and screaming God help me tonight
Gentle hands reach out to help her
Out of that darkness into the light

Things That Give Me Hope
By Danny Liggett/Randy McClendon
V1
Some things I see make me feel lost I’ll never believe all the good has been tossed
Still there are things that bring light to the day, that’s when I find hope and begin to feel okay
{Chorus 1}
Like . . . the Smile of child. Flowers growing wild. Creations of art. That touch the heart.
These things give me hope
V2
I see these things, they always put me at ease. Remind me that people still do things like these.
Deep in our hearts, we truly do care. We look to be kind and act beyond compare.
{Chorus 2}
Like . . . Encouraging words. The song of songbirds. Friends helping friends. A love that
transcends.
These things give me hope
{Bridge}
Some people feel hopeless, and focus on life’s pain, but there is hope all around,
and so much yet to gain, if you just take the time to see the beauty around you and me.
{Chorus 3}
Like . . . Comradery of friends. Music that never ends. Writing songs of love. The kind we all
dream of. These things give me hope. These things give us all hope.
{Outro}
There is always hope.

Come Along, Let’s Play
By Dan DeHart
Verse 1
I hear your name is Jed and you’re here to stay
Well, my name is Joseph and I am here to play
So stop that crying and screaming and sleeping the day away
Get down off mama’s lap, so come along let’s play
Verse 2
I got lots of toys here, more than I can say
At GeeGee and PawPaws I got more and more each day
We will run the sprinkler and they will laugh and scream
Let's put on a show, we will be a team
Chorus
I got riding toys and slides and a swing under the tree
I got balls to throw and books to read and Elmo’s on TV
Just take my hand and come with me, and you will see
So what do you say, won't you play with me.
Bridge
I got treasures and treats in special places
I’ll share them with you, if you stay in my good graces
Verse 3
I've been there too, I know what you're going through
Your big brother has your back, now that I am two
Together we will make them proud, just me and you
I can't wait till you grow up so I can play with you.

THE MIRROR
(Instrumental Intro)
I am just a mirror, I hang upon your wall,
I can see what you see, I can see it all…
You go out into a world, That rips you all apart,
You wind up staring at me, With that broken heart,
Ahhhh - With your broken heart…
I have seen your mother, Where shadows crawl below,
She says she doesn’t love you, Why, she does not know…
CHORUS
You spend your life looking for love,
You spend your life looking for it,
Wondering if it will ever fit,
Put it on…
You spend your life looking for it,
Wondering if it will ever fit,
Just put it on…
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK (per intro)
Sometimes you are happy, Sometimes you are not,
You wind up crying in me, ‘Cause I am all you’ve got…
I see you dancing with him, Imaginary friend,
Pretty dress, pretty smile, But I know how this will end…
I can see a father, So sad for what he’s done,
Mother’s hiding quietly, They’re in this alone,
Ahhhhh – They’re in this alone…
CHORUS
You spend your life looking for love,
You spend your life looking for it,
Wondering if it will ever fit,
Put it on…
You spend your life looking for it,
Wondering if it will ever fit,
Just put it on…
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
I am just a mirror, I hang upon your wall,
I can see what you see, I can see it all…
All the times you cried in me, I wish you could have known,
I tried but could not tell you, You’re not in this alone,
Ahhhhhh - You’re not in this alone…

Chorus
Work me in, to your schedule
Work me in, to your schemes
For I am willing, oh so available
And I would love to play a part in your dreams

Would I like to be the whole entire spreadsheet?
Well of course, but I will gladly be a row
And if needed I’d excel as just a happy, humble cell
If it fit into your formulaic flow
Verse 2
Well some guys they toss their partners round the dance floor
And some gals will flirt and ponder sweet romance
But when I stop to look at you, I know exactly what to do
I will join you in a lovely, lifelong dance

VERSE 1
In a world that tried to change me
I was scared to show my face
But your love became my shelter
A safe and sacred place
PRE-CHORUS
Every fear starts to fade
When I’m lost in your embrace
You’re the truth I’ve been waiting for
The light I can’t replace
CHORUS
Only with you, my heart is free
Every part of me feels seen
Through the silence, through the fight
You are my forever light
Love has no rules, no walls, no chains
It is stronger than the world’s disdain
Only with you, I’ve found what’s true
VERSE 2
We have walked roads of doubt and distance
Faced the nights of endless gray
But your hand in mine reminds me
We’ll find sunshine in the rain
BRIDGE
If the world won’t understand us
Let them talk, we’ll rise above
For the only thing that matters
Is the courage found in love
FINAL CHORUS
Only with you, my soul can sing
Every day feels like the spring
Through the shadows, through the fire
You’re my one and true desire
Love has no rules, no walls, no chains
It’s stronger than the world’s disdain
Only with you, I’ve found what’s true
OUTRO

V1
She sits alone in her room not knowing what to do
Never dreamed he would leave; swore up and down he loved her too
She’s scared of what will happen now; too afraid to ask for help
Not ready yet to be a mother when she’s just a child herself
Lead In: So she prays….
Chorus 1
Give me a chance to start all over
Give me a chance to make this right
Give me a chance to have a future
Give me a chance to live my life
V2
Days are turning into weeks and soon the world will know
She could end this all right now before she starts to show
But lessons from her bible class, God doesn't make mistakes
Children are precious gifts from Him; not choices that we make
Chorus 1
Give me a chance to start all over
Give me a chance to make this right
Give me a chance to have a future
Give me a chance to live my life
Bridge
No one can deny that every mother hears her unborn baby’s cry

Good Man
October
Lance Medlin
2025
Let me tell you a story about and oil man from Houston Texas
He had a strong back and an even stronger mind
One day he went down there all young and green
and got himself a job at the refinery
Now he quickly learned his place in line
with seniority and shift work and overtime
the work was hard, but the pay was good
so he built himself a life just like he should
Because he's a good man
he makes a good hand
and there's plenty in this world
who depend on him
So he works hard every day
to try and earn his pay
he is a good man
because he's a good hand
Well the years they just rolled by
real slow at first
and his life just seemed to grow up all around him
but he stayed steady, 60 hours a week at least
Had to make sure the family always got enough to eat
Because he's a good man
he makes a good hand
and there's plenty in this world
who depend on him
So he works hard every day
to try and earn his pay
he is a good man
because he's a good hand
Now the trials of life seem trivial now as he floats thru his final days
he kept that crude flowing for more that 4 decades
his life was full of toil, and heat and sweat and pain
but he wouldn't change a thing
not he'd do it all the same
Because he's a good man
he makes a good hand
and there's plenty in this world
who depend on him
So he works hard every day
to try and earn his pay
he is a good man
because he's a good hand
Because he's a good man
he makes a good hand
and there's plenty in this world
who depend on him
So he works hard every day
to try and earn his pay
he is a good man
because he's a good hand
he is a good man
because he's a good hand

I have waited all my life for you
Searched behind 1000 faces trying to find you
Now this day has come and I
Can't believe it's true
Cause I have waited all my life for you
Verse II
Many times and daydreams, or when I'd lie awake at night
I thought about this day and prayed you'd come into my life
Now my prayers is answered, a prayer of yours is too
Cause I have waited all my life for you
Bridge
I have saved my heart for you
Kept this sacred part for you
Now this dream is coning true , its true
And before this day is done
we though two shall be as one
Bound by Father and the Son, and his spirit too
I have waited all my life for you
Searched behind a 1000 faces trying to find you
Now this day has come and I ,
Can't believe its true
Cause I have waited all my life for you
And as we walk this road together, you and I
Two candles burning, has one flame into the night
Lord, may you always be, the fire that lights are way to see
How we'll keep this vow forever true
I have waited all my life for you
Searched behind 1000 faces trying to find you
Now this day has come and I can't believe it's true

Out of Whack
Lyrics/music Gene K. Stewart
v1
The other day I did some shoppin',
Lookin' for some peace of mind.
I began the search where I was workin'
Hoped it wouldn't take too long to find
But days turned in to weeks and months
And soon I'd rolled away the years
Optimistic eyes were open
Now it's time to wipe away the tears
Chorus
Well, sometimes it's hard to see
What is truth and what's reality, oh no
It's not always white or black
In a world, that's out of Whack!
V2
This old world seems out of balance
The ride feels pretty rough to me
People fight and die in the name of freedom
That is what we all want to believe
But, in the land of wealth and promise
we sometimes feel we've been deceived
Questions seek an understanding
Answers leave us questioning
Repeat chorus
Bridge
The rent goes up
The pay goes down
Things aren't so green
Just take a look around
Man had his chance and what a mess he's made
He trades tomorrow for profits made today
repeat chorus
outro
This old world's out of Whack,
Thats a fact Jack! Yes, it is.

The Sweetest Way I’ve Ever Said Goodbye
V1
The doctor called me, I called Cindy and we both got on a plane

We told you that your time was soon we knew you want to know
You said good pick me out some pretty clothes and do my makeup when I go
V2
We were sitting in the shadows ‘cuz you didn’t like the light
When you woke up wanting ice cream we found some in the middle of the night
I asked what else you wanted you said hold me, so I hugged you and held on
Then you looked at Cindy and you said lets have a song
Chorus
So she got out her guitar we sang in harmony
I put your hand in mine and tapped our fingers to the beat
Am didn’t sing along but you were smiling with your eyes
It was the sweetest
The sweetest way I’ve ever said goodbye
V3
Now I think about your final days the way we saw you through
Nola called from Amsterdam so she could be there too
We wrapped you up in so much love to send you on your way
There was no unfinished business there was nothing left to say
When Cindy got out her guitar and we sang in harmony
I put your hand in mine tapped our fingers to the beat
You didn’t sing along but you were smiling with your eyes
It was the sweetest
The sweetest way I’ve ever said goodbye
Interlude
She got out her guitar and we sang in harmony
I put your hand in mine tapped our fingers to the beat
You didn’t sing along but you were smiling with your eyes

Ride on a Vespa
Phil Leech
(Spoken word in parenthesis)
Verse 1
Went and touched down in the south of Costa Brava.
Took a train south then had to find myself a ride.
Was meeting her parents in a couple of days.
Didn’t really know what I was gonna say.
Saw an add in the paper and this is what it said.
Chorus 1
Take a ride on a Vespa
Take a ride on a Vespa
Wont you ride on a Vespa
Take a ride on a Vespa
It's your get up and go
'round the costa del sol
Take a ride on a Vespa
(Yeah … get a long little scooter...)
Verse 2
Went down to the shop and talked to the local salesman
Said a sky blue vespa would suit a guy like me just fine
At that's what I thought he was trying to say
His English was kinda rough … I couldn't tell that day
gave me a paper and kept saying 'scribe
(or firme ... I don’t know I was using a translation book at the time)
Chorus 2
Take a ride on a Vespa
Take a ride on a Vespa
Won’t you ride on a Vespa
Take a ride on a Vespa
Well, you might not know
It's a lot of fun it ain't slow
It's your get up and go
'round the costa del sol
Take a ride on a Vespa
(Yah! Get up and go little scooter...)
Verse 3
So I took it on down to meet my baby just west of Mal'ga
Had to make my way down the rest of the southern coast
Well that bike broke down maybe 'bout half way
Had to walk it to a shop … nearly took all day
Found a shade tree mechanic and this is what he said
Bridge
Oh! Why did you get a bike from a man like that?
He swindled you out of house and home.
You didn't read the contract you poor young man.
And now you’re stuck in Spain alone.
So I'll help you in your hour of need
To get you back on your feet
Here's another scooter I'll trade with you
It works but's old as you can see.
As you can see
As you can see
As you can see
(well … what’s this Texas boy to do? So…)
Chorus 3
I took a ride on a Vespa
Took a ride on a Vespa
Broke down on a Vespa
Took I ride on a Vespa
Bet ya didn't know
It’s really fun it ain’t slow
That guy told me it’s got lots of get up and go
And it what you do round the Costa del Sol
uh huh, uh huh, uh huh
(Vespa)
(yeah just don't go to that guy ... he'll sell you a lemon)
(he gave me a real cheap price... I thought it was a steal)
(there was a reason for that)

V1
As I look in the mirror
I see my hair is turning gray
And a whole lot thinner
From even yesterday
It got me to thinking
How time flies by
I even ask myself
How old am I?
Chorus 1
I’m old enough to be a grandpa
Old enough to get by
Old enough for my golden years
And not be afraid to die
I’m old enough
V2
When I think of what I’ve done
Throughout these many years
Age is not as important
As the things that I hold dear
Even had my share of love
And gave love in return
Never cried for too long
Whenever I got burned
Chorus 2
I’m old enough to know right from wrong
Old enough to tell the truth
Old enough not to care about
The problems of my youth
I’m old enough
Bridge
I have sweet memories
Of laughter and happy tears
Of family and friends to carry me
Through the rest of my years
Chorus 3
I’m old enough to forgive
Old enough to learn new things
Old enough to start all over
Before I earn my wings
I’m old enough

Movie Theater Mini-Van
(Verse 1)
As a kid, I loved the Saturday matinee
Movies were an escape to pass the time away
I dreamed about that movie theater life
Watching all those movies free with his wife
(Verse 2)
Well, life’s dreams change and I’m resigned
I married my sweetheart, had three kids, lost my mind
Fifty hour work week, no time for a vice
Don’t know what I’d do without this miracle device
(Chorus)
When it’s time to drive the kids, I drop the TV screens
Reach into the glove box for one of those 50 DVDs
Remember my childhood, being a movie fan
Now I drive a movie theater mini-van
(Verse 3)
I know every line but never seen a scene
Those kids are glued to that darn TV screen
I know all the words, but don’t know what they mean
But I guess I’m living out my childhood dream
(Bridge)
When the kids are strapped in, every parent knows
Those kids won’t stop screaming ‘til the movie rolls
(Chorus)
When it’s time to drive the kids, I drop the screens
I reach into the glove box for one of those 50 DVDs
Remember my childhood, being a movie fan
Now I drive a movie theater mini-van

The Human Race
September

2025
Everybody wants to have a good run, in this life we're living circling round the sun
Noone wants to finish 2nd place in the human race
Everybody wants the perfect spouse, a luxury car and a pretty dang nice house
Noone wants to finish 2nd place in the human race
We're told of prizes in the future that await, heaven on Earth and a slice of chocolate cake
It's the human race
We all want to feel that we're loved, whether by our peers or the Lord up above
Noone wants to finish 2nd place in the human race
We're told of prizes in the future that await, not living for today, well that's a huge mistake
In the human race
Only saints and a few enlightened souls, abort the race, theyv'e got higher goals
Everyone wants money to burn, they'll give a way the day for the interest they'll return
Noone wants to finish 2nd place in the human race
We're told of prizes in the future that await, not living for today, well that's a huge mistake
In the human race
Noone wants to finish 2nd place in the human race

Sing me a song,
sweet lullaby.
Whisper words,
tuck me in good night.
And say,
I love you.
Show me a path.
teach me the way.
Let me run,
let me play.
Hold me close,
as you say
I love you.
Stand here with me,
show me the world.
Exploring with me,
show me what it's like,
to say
I love you.
Give me the gift,
show me what's true,
help me decide,
just what to do,
and say
I love you

BABY SOLDIER
NEWSREEL INTRO:
We come to you “live” on a rain-soaked Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery. Just moments ago, our news team found an elderly woman deep in the shadows, literally hugging a gravestone. I just couldn’t bring myself to ask for that interview. I just couldn’t...
The weather report came in, just another day,
No one said a word, they just prayed,
No one there became any wiser,
One man simply walked away…
Mama’s here, no one beside her,
Standing in the wind and rain! (yea…)
-----------------------------------
Someone said they heard reveille,
No I think it’s TAPS… for me!
No one here became any older,
We paid the final price that day…
A mother and her baby soldier,
Searching for the words to say! (yea…)
-------------------------------------------
Running for the shadows,
Running where there is nowhere to go...
Falling in the shadows,
Even though there is nowhere to go-o-o-o-o,
-----------------------------------------------
The weather report came in just another day,
No one said a word, they just prayed,
A mother’s heart was made for children,
And that is where they’ll always be…
A mother and her baby soldier,
Together for eternity…
---------------------------------------------
Running for the shadows,
Running where there is nowhere to go…
Falling in the shadows,
Even though there is nowhere to go-o-o-o-o,
Lying in the shadows,
Even though there is nowhere to go-o-o-o…

Sometimes By Jim Robeson
Sometimes I find,
Your hand remembers mine.
Sometimes I know,
Red Tail Lights will take me Home
Sometimes I see,
The worry of what's left of me,
Sometimes I fall,
Like the Leaves
When Autumn Calls
And the Road hums Softer
When I know you are near
But Sometimes,
The road disappears.....
I don't Sometimes Love you
Its Like I always do
I don't sometimes need you
but the Sky needs the Blue
The Moon doesn't sometimes
ache for the night
It knows when things are right
Maybe Sometimes it doesn't show,
but Loves not Sometimes
I should know
What if the Seasons
had lost their names?
Or the Highway,
Forgot my way?
maybe then I walk alone
but not today
The Tide doesn't Sometimes,
Chase the open shore
The Tide Can't help
bur keep on wanting more
I don't Sometimes Love you
Its Like I always do
I don't sometimes need you
but the Sky needs the Blue
The Moon doesn't sometimes
ache for the night
It knows when things are right
Maybe Sometimes it doesn't show,
but Loves not Sometimes
I should know
The Moon doesn't sometimes
ache for the night
It knows when things are right
Maybe Sometimes it doesn't show,
but Loves not Sometimes
I should know

How about a little encouragement
How about some joy to see you

All of your darkest moments
How about a little song
Something you can sing along
Something that will hold you for a while
How about a little smile
Chorus
You should know how much I love you
That I'll always be there for you.
You know I'll stand beside you
Help your journey through
How about a little hug
I'll hold you as long as you want
I'll keep you safe and warm
You know you'll always have a home

You’re at your windowpane on the outside looking in
At your windowpane, window pain

At your windowpane, window pain
Pre-Chorus
Thread-bare morals and holes in their jeans
And your grand tapestry unraveling
Verse
There’s disease in your weave… yeah the colors are starting to bleed
At your windowpane, window pain
Pre-Chorus
Thread-bare morals and holes in their jeans
And your grand tapestry unraveling
Chorus
A loud orange backsplash of a golden filigree
Casting ashy grays on sacred blue and green
Bridge

listen to me
his lips can’t part without a lie
slipping through but oh in time
i know they’ll uncover the truth
you don’t know jack
the way i do
outside
he puts on a disguise
and everyone thinks he’s the greatest guy
if you could see him through my eyes
maybe then you’d realize
his lips can’t part without a lie
slipping through but oh in time
i know they’ll uncover the truth
that he’s not the perfect angel
they make him out to be
he’s got the devil on his shoulder
and his hearts not on his sleeve
ooo so don’t be fooled
you don’t know jack
the way i do
you don’t know
he’s got you under his spell
i know cause i’ve been right there
but girl take off those rose colored shades
he doesn’t need another win
cause that’s all that this is
and you’re a pawn in his game
his lips can’t part without a lie
slipping through but oh in time

Surefoot
1. Oh you soulda seen her on the day she quit the crawl.
We nicknamed her Surefoot cause she never seems to fall.
It a perfect fit cause it so beautifully describes
The way she seems to navigate the challenges of life.
Surefoot. Surefoot. Steady as she goes.
2. When her fingers took their baby steps up and down the keys
making music magic with nothing up her sleeves.
When she starts to sing even birds stop to hear
the voice that demands a band to launch a career.
Surefoot. Surefoot. Steady as she goes.
Bridge At the Brownie Daddy Daughter Dance
I’d spin her and she’d smile
Training me for the day
I’d waltz her down the aisle.
Surefoot. Surefoot. Steady as she goes
3. We can’t know the future or what’s around the bend.
But I believe for her it’s bright no matter what life sends.
Till the day she’ll hear pitter patter of tiny feet
Following her around like she used to follow me
Surefoot Surefoot steady as she goes
Surefoot Surefoot steady as she goes

Verse 1
Ugly man
Ugly wife
Living in a ditch in his ugly life.
Ugly dogs
Ugly cats
Chewin' on the bones made of ugly rats.
Ugly thoughts
Ugly dreams
Ugly looking kids in this ugly scene
yeah
Verse 2
Ugly girls
Ugly boys
Their reflection in their ugly mirror informs their choices.
Ugly war
Ugly peace
What's a guy gotta do to get some relief?
Now I gotta live
Looking over my shoulder
There's an ugly man coming just to take me over.
(It ain't pretty!)
(no sir..)
(you know ...just because you are paranoid it still doesn't mean someone aren't out to get you)
Verse 3
There's an ugly stain
On this ugly coach
As I sit and rot in this ugly house.
I take my ugly drugs
For my ugly pain
All the ugly things running though my brain.
They say that life
Can be such a joy
But this damn ugly world seeks to destroy
yeah
(my peace of mind)
(I just can't seem to get any)
Verse 4
Ugly this
Ugly that
When I'm doin' me some thinkin' I use my ugly hat.
Ugly signs
Ugly times
Giving us the fear of being left behind.
What you gonna do
When it comes to blows
And the only things you see are the ugly shows.
(gotta look away man ... yeah get away...)
Verse 5
Ugly me
Ugly you
I wish we could be beautiful, hopeful and true.
Yeah
Me and you
You and me
Swimmin' in the waters of this ugly sea.
What'cha gonna do
When the ugly takes you over
The best you better do is go an' run for cover.
yeah

Granny Panties -Molli McMills
V1
I was twenty years old a Southern college girl
Still a virgin I was not of this world
Happy to be going home, I missed my mom
It was close to 3 hours which felt pretty far
Had my laundry basket on the front seat of my car
With my favorite granny panties there on the top
Chorus
Hooray for granny panties comfy cotton and white
I loved those granny panties. they covered my butt… and its wide
V2
I just wanted to be home it was slow at the start
Headed to Jackson driving in the dark
Then the fog covered my windshield, I couldn’t see through
I tried the defrost and every button on the dash
Then I pulled over so I wouldn’t crash
Sat there for a minute wondering what I should do
Chorus
Hooray for Granny Panties! I could wipe the fog away
With my big ole Granny Panties I ‘d live to see another day! (I know, I was dramatic back then)
V3
So I go outside to wipe off the fog
Then a car pulls up, oh great! its a cop!
I was standing there with my underwear tight in my fist
He said ma’am what’s the trouble how can I help
I said “I need to wipe the fog but I’ll do it myself”
He puffed out his chest said “I’ll take care of this”
BRIDGE
I say no thank you and try to resist he holds out his hand and says. “I insist”
I keep declining but he won’t let it go
So I hand ‘em over and we both know, we both know
CHORUS
Hooray for Granny Pantie he’s wiping off the glass
With my dirty granny panties that yesterday were on my ass!
V4
We got thru it but our faces were blue
Didn’t get his name but I thought he was cute
Then I saw him a few years later at the five and ten
We stared at each other then we figured it out
Am D7
Both beet red laughing out loud

We’ve been together ever since

VERSE 1
Even long ago I was very old.
I've always been and somewhere I'll always be.
Once welcome at many shores now some don't want me anymore.
But despite what they say I know somewhere people want to live free.
VERSE 2
I don't live in a castle no walls around me stand.
I'm not exclusive to any place or the soil of any land.
I'm not concerned with language or the color of your skin.
I live in just one single place the heart of any friend.
CHORUS
Through every battle through every raging storm.
Over every obstacle my hope will always come.
For I'm the song that never sleeps that prisons cannot keep.
I am freedom. I am freedom.

Many a man and woman have died to bring me here to you.
And now the light of my hope will stay or pass through you.

Altitude V1 Demo Lyrics Only - Mark & Steven
[Verse]
Steps bite into stone
lungs protest the silent climb
air thins with every thought
I’m up here all alone
Ech-ic-oes stretch to far
even wind forgets to breathe
still, I keep rising, I keep trying
To touch the stars
[Chorus]
Maybe it’s the climb?
Or the altitude (chant “it’s the climb”)
I’m feeling light headed (it’s the climb)
oh but the view
Oh Altitude (it’s the climb)
I Can breathe in this
Altitude (it’s the climb)
Oh altitude
[Verse]
Clouds move under my feet
the hush holds a kind of truth
Oh I’m so small, do I matter at all
Show me the way

It touches my soul
And every effort it took
Oh it never gets old, never gets old

If I had wings, I'd fly away
So I can make my peace get my head straight
Trouble don't you call my name
'Cause I ain't looking for a fight today
And my intensions are always good
Sometimes they're just misunderstood
But I always do the best I can
To swallow up my pride and be the bigger man
All this pain is getting hard
My fragile souls fallin' apart
I don't know where to go or who to be
This world can make you feel so weak
So I just need to rest this heart
Give my life a brand-new start
Leave this town and leave my shame
Go where no one knows my name
So I take a breath and take my time
Tomorrow morning the sun will rise
Well, they say it's darkest before the light
I only know I hope their right

Reading the words on this page that you left for me
How can I
Treat you so low
Baby, I love you but I just have to go
Verse2:
Back home in Texas
That old dirt road
Memories of what was, bringing me home
Words decay
As you slip away
One moment more, please just stay
Chorus:
I'm wasting time
Or is time wasting me
Just give me a sign
Or just let me be

Granny with cane had a lot to say.
She’s losing it, and she’s all alone. Oh
Do I believe her, I don’t know
Chorus
This is not a dream oh .
This is not a dream. Oh

Low income housing, there’s no more.
Those others she fears are bad to the bone
I listen, I begin to hear oh.
Leaf in the wind trembling with fear oh.

Where The Guadalupe Flows

crystal waters, catching Fireflies
laughter echoes
where the Cypress sighs
the stars stitch
the night above.
Thunder wrote a song we knew
a River broke all the Rules
Held close on a Texas night
The river runs all alone,
Tears fall where the healing grows
Green Ribbons are tied along the shore
where the Guadalupe flows
Dance dear moon
on the waters skin
sing for the voices
woven in
every ripple turns into a lullaby
old oaks stand
with arms so wide
catching memories
the tide can’t hide
the river sings its own melody
the river runs all alone
tears will fall where the healing grows
Green Ribbons are tied along the shore
where the Guadalupe flows
for every heart the River claimed
The fireflies will write their names
the river runs all alone
tears will fall where the healing grows
Green Ribbons are tied along the shore
where the Guadalupe flows.

I CAN SEE THE MOON
(Picking guitar intro)
I can see the moon from here,
And I can see the stars my dear,
And I…. can…. see… for--e--verrrr….
Oh-oh… Oh-oh… Oh-oh---ohhh…
(Picking guitar break)
I see father time… just rolling by,
Wearing out the earth and sky,
But he's helpless… helpless… in your eyes…
Yes he’s helpless… so helpless… in your eyes…
And we can see…for--e--verrrrrrr….
Oh-oh… Oh-oh… Oh-oh---ohhh…
(Picking guitar break)
I can see the moon from here,
And I can see the stars my dear,
And I…. can…. see… for--e--verrrr….
Oh-oh… Oh-oh… Oh-oh---ohhh…
Ooooo… Ooooo… Oooo-oo-ooo…

there stands the bottle
August
Paul Boedeker
2025
there stands the bottle
here stands the glass
I keep getting this picture,
over and over, out of the past
love, laughs, and liquor
flowed heavy and strong
no glass was empty
‘till the bottle was gone
midnight until morning
the most dangerous time of all
whenever I close my eyes, hard as I try,
the rain begins to fall
and this feeling like thunder,
in the light of the flash,
there stands the bottle, here stands the glass
it’s easy to run in the light of the day
but along come the night and the demons will play
the moon is a cold cold mistress, but she’ll tag along
‘till the glass is empty, and the bottle is gone
there stands the bottle
here stands the glass
i keep getting this picture,
over and over, out of the past
love was the liquor
life was the song
no glass was empty
‘till the bottle was gone
now the glass is empty
the bottle is gone.

Judgement Day
Guy Reed
**Verse 1**
The clock strikes twelve, the sky turns gray,
No gold can buy another day.
The towers of riches crumble to dust,
On Judgment Day, it’s soul or bust.
**Chorus**
Your billions fade, your treasures fall,
No use for diamonds when the heavens call.
The weight of wealth, it won’t outweigh,
The truth revealed on Judgment Day.
**Verse 2**
The ledgers burn, the numbers lie,
No currency can pacify.
The heart is weighed, the deeds are told,
No vault can shield a tarnished soul.
**Bridge**
The gates don’t open for the rich or the poor,
But for the kindness you’ve shown before.
No stocks, no bonds, no earthly gain,
Can wash away the eternal stain.
**Chorus**
Your billions fade, your treasures fall,
No use for diamonds when the heavens call.
The weight of wealth, it won’t outweigh,
The truth revealed on Judgment Day.
**Outro**
So live with love, let kindness lead,
For it’s the heart, not gold, that plants the seed.
When the final reckoning comes your way,
It’s not what you owned, but what you gave away.

Took some time to figure out
A sense of purpose so devout and I
Never thought I’d end up here
A tired worn out brigadier despised
The journey took some twists and turns
Can’t believe how much I’ve learned by now
But knowledge doesn’t help you when
No one has your back and then
You vow
To move on somehow
Chorus
Take my life take my soul
Cuz I’m ready to go
Where I’ll be I don’t know
At the end of the road
Verse
(With) all the power you’ve amassed
(You) underserved the underclass for years
Living in oblivion
Never seen their flowing blood and tears
Troubled souls fall through the cracks
Every person pays a tax for this
Zip code privilege keeps you blind
But distant pain can always find a way
And you’re gonna pay
Chorus
Take my life take my soul
Cuz I’m ready to go
Where I’ll be I don’t know
At the end of the road
Solo
Chorus
Take my life take my soul
Cuz I’m ready to go
Where I’ll be I don’t know
At the end of the road
Prechorus
They get their comeuppance when
The devil comes back to cash in
And I… say good bye
Final Chorus
Take my life take my soul
Cuz I’m ready to go
Where I’ll be I don’t know
At the end of the road
Been a burdensome load
All the love I bestowed
All the seeds that I sowed

Fire Ants
By: Bryan McVicker
Verse 1:
All you know is gone in a flash,
Into the muck a flooding purge.
Pride suddenly lost; our survival awakens,
Praying can we endure the scourge?
Pre-chorus:
As waters arise, a pleasing surprise
Is that a lifeline floating our way?
Chorus:
No! Did you know that fire ants float?
Those little bastards don’t need any boat!
On rafts of wrath the undead dance
Red and deadly, it’s a mound of ants!
Flash Flood Fire Ants
Flash Flood Fire Ants
Flash Flood Fire Ants
Verse 2:
Backwaters proclaim, they’re coming, they’re coming!
Water and ants, the worst immigrants.
We’re under attack, a hellfire migration,
And we’re slowed by the wicking of pants!
Bridge:
Knots of venom, devilishly dancing,
On drowned mounds of our own.
Those humans in sight are fearing we might,
Coordinate a feast to the bone!
But have no fear – we only wish to live
Survival is our common ground instinct.
If you give us a ride, we may owe you our lives,
But no guarantee we won’t bite down in sync!
Verse 3:
Assembling and linking with non-human speed,
Erecting death bridges like World War Z.
Fire walkers on water, like some Jesus stunt
Or a fiery parting Red Sea.
Pre-chorus:
As waters arise, a pleasing surprise
Is that a lifeline wading our way?
Chorus
Did you know that fire ants float?
You giant bastards are going to need a boat
On rafts of wrath our undead dance
Red and deadly, we’re a mound of ants!
Flash Flood Fire Ants
Flash Flood Fire Ants
Flash Flood Fire Ants!
Outro:
Strength in numbers, fire ants will endure
Holding hands to survive when life turns horrific…

When I was just a boy of nine years old
Flying my kite across the Alamance river
The sky is so big and me so small
And the grass just carpet of four leaf clover
A barefoot pirate with a fishing pole
To six guns in my holster
Livin next-door to the promised land
Down here in Carolina
Here in Carolina
Well, I had me a girl when I turned 21
She said she wanted to be my wife
She said let's get married and move to the city
We live that crazy city life
We'll see the lights and we'll stay out late
We'll leave this life behind us
There's nothing here to hang onto
Down here in Carolina
Here in Carolina
Well, you can curse the ground you're standing on
Pitch your tent toward Babylon
Pack your bags and move along
But this is where I'm calling home
Here in Carolina
Ooo Hallelujah
I saved my money and I bought some land
Found, a good wife an a cotton gin
We had three sons and we worked this land
Down here in Carolina

I'm still living on the banks of this Alamance river

And the grass still a carpet of four leaf clover
So when I die, won't you bury me?
By the Cypress near this river
Just outside the gates of Eden
here in Carolina

Well, you can curse this crown you're standing on
Pitch your tent toward Babylon
Pack your bags and turn to stone
But this is where I'm calling home

Me and This Song
(c) Phil Leech
Verse 1
Remember when we used to laugh
Running round circles life seemed so fast
Remember when we used to play
Always found joy in each and every day
Chorus 1
Well, I’ve been trying to make things right
But it always ends up working out wrong
Now I'm stuck in this hotel mama
With nothing left but me and this song
Verse 2
Remember when we went to that dance
You said it was like some movie star romance
Remember when we couldn't help but cry
Whenever a sad or happy moment stole into
Our eyes
Chorus 2
So, I’ve been humming this tune all night
But the words tend to come out wrong
Guess I’ll go for the Sunday special
Cause Monday won’t be too far along
Verse 3
Remember when we had that fight
Can't remember how it started it all seemed so slight
Said a few words and then I stormed off
I realize now that's the day we both lost
Our love
Chorus 3
I've been staring at the ceiling all night
Cause the words I need to say have all gone
Guess I’ll try to go to sleep again
Maybe tomorrow you'll answer my call
Maybe I'll know when the morning comes
I sure hope that you'll answer my call
Can't you see I'm trying babe
Maybe tomorrow you'll answer my call

Momma was a river-boat gambler
Daddy, he sold Avon door to door
Sister was a junior Sumo wrestler
Weighed a hundred and twenty pounds when she was four
[CHORUS]
Now you know the reason why I'm different Is there any wonder why they stare When I'm walking down the highway in my hard hat High heel pumps and long-john underwear
V-2
Momma got arrested in Las Vegas
Sis was sumo wrestling in LA
Dad was at a Mary Kay convention
And left us to run off with Mary Kay
[CHORUS]
V-3
Got a job a-working in construction
Had to spend eight hours in the sun
Lost my shirt while gambling with the foreman
Got fired when my makeup began to run

Wayward Son V2a (Live) - June 2025
[Verse 1]
I took the long road out of town
Left my Bible in the lost and found
Chased the noise
and adrenaline highs
I prayed once at my daughter’s birth
Just a whisper, but man it hurt
And it cracked the stone
I’d built inside
[Pre-Ch]
And shame was like a second skin
[Chorus]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway
Trading truth for songs that fade
But You never moved, You never changed
Still standing there, arms wide, with grace
[Post‑Chorus]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway
The way‑ward son
The runaway
[Verse 2]
Grandma called, said Come back soon
But pride can build a bigger room
I filled it up with emptiness
Load‑stone pulling at my compass
It got hard to hear the trumpets
Spinning ’round – yeah, what a mess
[Pre‑Chorus]
I thought You’d slam the door when I ran
[Chorus]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway
Trading truth for songs that fade
But You never moved, You never changed
Still standing there, arms wide, with grace
[Post‑Chorus]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway
The way‑ward son
The runaway
I’m finally heading home
[Bridge]
Now I see the cross, not just the pain
As welcome sign that bears my na‑a‑ame
[Chorus]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway
Trading truth for songs that fade
But You never moved, You never changed
Still standing there, arms wide, with grace
[Post‑Chorus / Outro]
I‑I‑I’m the way‑ward son, the runaway

Rain drops falling from the sky splashing at my feet.

VS1
Well, I finally got that old chair recovered,
But look behind there hanging above it,
Proudly framed like the finest tapestry you ever saw.
The old red fabric faded and torn
Ragged at the seams and around the corners
Didn't have the heart to just toss away these pieces of my soul.
CHORUS
When I stripped away the fabric, pulled out the foam and feathers,
Got down to those brass tacks that held it all together.
It was still strong, and it's still strong
VS2
A frame that's lasted through these years
Of love and comfort, dirt and tears,
Through every memory of my life, and every sleepy dream
From sippin' Kool-Aid in my mother's lap,
Through kids and movies and Sunday naps.
Forever in my mind, forever in these seams.
CHORUS
Oh when you strip away the fabric, pull out the foam and feathers,
And you get down to those brass tacks that hold it all together.
It's still strong, it's still strong
BRIDGE:
That old red cloth hanging on the wall holds the story my life
It's stained and tattered, dirty and worn.
But what really matters are the stories it bore,
CHORUS:
Oh when you, strip away the fabric, pull out the foam and feathers,
Get down to those brass tacks that keep it all together.
It's still strong, it's still strong
OUTRO/END:
A frame that's lasted through these years
Of love and comfort, dirt and tears,
Forever in my mind, forever in these seams.

Verse 1
I went to the store just today
I thought a quick trip would be OK
Trouble started as I got there
Some big dude was starting to swear
The people in line were being rude
Pushin’, yellin’, showing attitude
Check-out lady started to cry
Man, I couldn’t believe my eyes

Chorus
I’ve had enough
I can’t take it anymore
All this anger, I can’t ignore
Everyone’s mad at everyone
Yeah, I think I’m done
I’ve had enough
Verse 2
Everyone thinks their stuff don’t stink
It doesn’t matter what you think
They’re gonna do things their own way
You don’t like it, well, “make my day”
What happened to following the rules?
We all learned in church and school
Yes sir, no ma’am, thank you, please
Now a days, no one uses these
I tell ya (spoken)
Chorus
Bridge
Well, I got this vision
I’ll make it my mission
Gonna be kind and not so blind
Maybe change a mind or two
What do you think? How about you?

Can you ignore?
Are you mad at everyone

The Unwanted
I walk down a road,
No end, no pain
No Signs for Heave,
No Fires to Flame
no flames to cleanse me
no light or soul to save
not worth the torment
not fit for pain
Oh I m the one the sky erased
The one the world let slip away
Im the question
that no one could ever ask
Im the sound
no cry can make
The silence where
all the prayers will break
I have the Scars
where the Angels fell
I walk the Truth
there's nothing there
The Righteous march
and they only stare
Halos snap like prison wire
Im the hymn
no one will sing
Ive carved my sins
In harsh barbed wire
Oh I m the one the sky erased
The one the world let slip away
Im the question
that no one could ever ask
Im the sound
no cry can make
The silence where
all the prayers will break
I have the Scars

Big Wheels
Guy Reed
(Verse 1)
The highway was rolling by,
The night was dark the moon was high,
Leaving me to wonder why,
I can't reach you by phone.
On the road two weeks out,
I start to have my doubts,
Wondering what it's all about,
And if you're even home.
(Chorus)
Big wheels they keep rolling,
Love is hard to find.
Too many hands I'm folding,
For being the trucking kind.
Roll big wheels roll.
You've seeped into my soul.
Roll big wheels roll,
You've taken control.
(Verse 2)
I park my rig in the breaking dawn,
Look to find that you are gone,
Can't believe you stayed this long,
With what you need not found.
You're not the first, won't be the last,
Soon a memory from my past,
Newest member of a cast,
Of Club See you around.
(Chorus)
Big wheels they keep rolling,
Love is hard to find.
Too many hands I'm folding,
For being the trucking kind.
Roll big wheels roll.
You've seeped into my soul.
Roll big wheels roll,
You've taken control.
(Verse 3)
The devil grins to see me there,
Like a fool, without a prayer,
It's his curse that I wear,
For everyone to see.
The big wheels have sealed my fate,
I took a bite, then I ate,
Can't quit now, it's too late,
A trucker I'll always be.

Underneath this silver moon, that’s where I long to dance with you.
And I’ll take your hand and give you my heart.
Do my best not to fall apart.

And underneath this starry sky, my heart’ll skip a beat when your eyes meet mine.
But darlin’ I won’t look away, cause’ in your gaze is where I wanna stay.
(Chorus)
And I would stop the sun from risin’. From comin’ up over the horizon.
If it meant that I could stay with you. Underneath this silver moon.

Underneath this silver moon, I dream of what I hope comes true.

The sound of your sweet voice callin’, because for you I have fallen.
Because of you I have fallen.

lyrics/music Gene K. Stewart
V1
Well it seems that some things are just meant to be,
Some bring us joy, others bring agony.
It helps to believe in a master plan,
And know that some things are out of our hands.
Chorus
Carmelita,
My companion and friend.
I'll cherish the memory,
Of how you'd felt in my hand.
Carmelita,
My sweet seniorita.
You helped my dreams come true,
And I'll always miss you,
My Caremlita.
Instrumental
V2
And now that your gone,
I must carry on,
And prepare for the road that's ahead.
Your memory will inspire me.
To go down that road,
and be the best I can be.
Chorus/Outro
Carmelita,
My companion and friend.
I'll cherish the memory,
Of how you'd felt in my hand.
Carmelita,
My sweet seniorita.
You helped my dreams come true,
And I'll always miss you,
My Caremlita.
You helped my dreams come true,
And I'll always miss you,
My Carmelita.

Peter Pan is feeling down, Wendy packed up and left town
The windows are open wide, kids would rather stay inside
The ship has all but run aground - Since Wendy chose to leave town
& Peter's feeling down
Captain Hook is on the trail, Tink is in the county jail, Dismay's overtaken Peter Pan
In Never Neverland
The injuns are no longer free, crocodle at Mr. Smee
And in the deep lagoon, there lies a sense of doom
The ship has all but run aground - Since Wendy packed up and left town
& Peter's feeling down
Captain Hook is on the trail, Tink is in the county jail, Dismay's overtaken Peter Pan
In Never Neverland
And all the lost boys are now gainfully employed - no time for toys
Captain Hook is on the trail, Tink is in the county jail, Dismay's overtaken Peter Pan

Fare Thee Well Sweet Serena
Kirk Clove
Verse 1:
It's early in the morning
the ladies of the evening are calling it a day
The morning light, juxtaposed
against a sliver of a moon fading away
Bridge:
The streets are covered in grime
like the hands of the working man
and no amount of scrubbing will take it away
Chorus:
Fare thee well sweet Serena
The princess of 32nd street
Your perfume casts a scent a little sweeter
As I fade away into my dreams
Verse 2:
Now the city comes alive
and the sinners retreat to their caves
the good people hustle each other
And push their way to an early grave
Bridge:
God bless me and Serena
Trapped between the two worlds
Too good to be bad
and too bad to be saved
Chorus:
Fare thee well sweet Serena
The princess of 32nd street
Your perfume casts a scent a little sweeter
As I fade away into my dreams
Verse 3:
Serena our world came crashing down
As these things often do
You left to find your prince
And I walk these streets trying to forget you
Chorus:
Fare thee well my sweet Serena
The princess of 32nd street
Your perfume casts a scent a little sweeter
As I fade away into my dreams

THE SOLDIER (Lyrics by Michael Kiser)
I was a soldier, For this I was born,
I stood so close, I could count the thorns,
He was a stranger, But I won’t lie,
It cut me to the core, When I pierced his side…
Now come on with me, You won’t believe what you see,
Come on with me, You won’t believe what you see,
Someone you won’t believe, Hangs on a tree…
Now come on with us, You’ve got to deal with what you see,
Come on with us, You’ve got to deal with what you see,
Every one of us, Did this terrible thing…
I can’t get up, I cannot go on,
I don’t know what to do!
Gotta talk to you…
Father can I have a word, with you…
Every father knows, The joy of children,
I cannot imagine, Oh the pain, to lose them,
Father you did everything you could, to save us,
But... I believe… You cried…
When your little boy… Died…
Ahhhhhhh… ahhh… ahhh… ahhhhh…
BRIDGE
I can hear your heartbeat,
I can hear it clear over here,
Said I can hear your heartbeat,
I can hear I clear over here…
I can’t get up, I cannot go on,
I don’t know what to do!
Gotta talk to you,
Father can I have a word, with you…
Everybody knows, The joy of children,
I cannot imagine, Oh the pain, to lose them,
Father you did everything you could, to save us,
But... I believe,… You cried,
When your little Boy… Died…
Ahhhhhhh… ahhh… ahhh… ahhhhh…
I was a soldier, For this I was born,
I stood so close, I could count the thorns,
He was a stranger, But I won’t lie,
It cut me to the core, When His father cried…

The Layover
June

VERSE 1:
Lamps, bottles, bones and promises
Along with eggshells carpet her childhood bedroom
Born an inmate to her hand puppeteer
That blond wavy-haired, freckled-face, green eyed boy came not a moment too soon.
VERSE 2:
"I’m Sam,” he grunted. Then took another swig.
From his fingers flowed violence and rage
Kristen and Allison both asked her what the hell
But you see he had a car and some time and the will to pull her from her cage.
CHORUS:
What would you do to get out the door?
What would you say not to be here anymore?
Non-stop trips are so damn hard to find.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.
VERSE 3:
In the dark of the night, she hop-steps across street
With a pamphlet shields an infant from the rain.
Before climbing up into the waiting Chevrolet
She looks back with one eye, knowing she’s only leaving him and not the pain
CHORUS:
What would you do to get out the door
What would you say not to be here anymore?
Non-stop trips are so damn hard to find.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.
BRIDGE:
Loser. User. Nothing she hasn’t heard.
Web cams. On the lam. Trapped in this theater of the absurd
CHORUS:
What would you do to get out the door?
What would you say not to be here anymore?
Non-stop trips are so damn hard to find.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.
In the layover be wise. In the layover be wise.

Lyrics:
When the sun sets down in a field of red clouds
And the sky puts on a cloak of blue and gray
You can look for me in the grass beside the sea
Oh my cherished sweet memory
For in the darkness, you are my light
And your melody comes to me in the quiet of the night
I can hear you whispering my name,
But it doesn’t sound the same, it doesn't sound the same.
All through the night, ‘til the sun begins to rise
I will sleep in the comfort of your lovely song
Knowing you’ll find me on the hills behind the sea
Oh my sweet and cherished memory
For there is beauty in a voice from heaven
That words can’t explain and pictures can’t cannot show
I will choose to hear this beauty in your song of love, in your song of love
And in the sunlight you are my strength
And your song of joy comes to me like a kiss so sweet
I can hear you whispering my name
But it doesn’t sound the same, it doesn't sound the same.

BLUE DREAMS, by David Fahl
Ch Red lights, blue dreams, amazing stories, strange scenes,
Never working, never bored, daylight dancing gives you no reward.
V1 She left me standing by the riverside
I got a goodbye kiss, I don't believe she cried
She picked a purple rose and pinned it to her hair
Did a farewell tango up the hotel stair
Ch Into those red lights, blue dreams, amazing stories, strange scenes,
Never working, never bored, daylight dancing gets no reward.
V2 Alice said she might be back in town
Maybe so but she won't hang around
My phone won't ring 'cause it's off the hook
I'm not hiding but I still get shook
Ch Into those red lights, blue dreams, amazing stories, strange scenes,
Never working, never bored, daylight dancing gets a small reward.

V3 Slow to close and quick to cry
I only fool myself when I try to lie
Dancers and gamblers fill the life she chose
I tried that road, but I'm two steps slow

Never working, never bored, daylight dancing makes its own reward.

VERSE
It’s been ten long years since I was home.
Lost my key, I knock on the door.
No one’s here, so I turn around.
Kick a rock down the busted driveway.
Where I left for the last time - had to get away.
The same back then – no one around.
CHORUS
You called it home, liked to pretend even though
It never really was for me, so I don’t come around
You had to know by turning your back this is how it’d go
I’ll call you some Sunday if I’m around . . . around.
VERSE
Now I don’t remember if there was a time
When you and I saw eye to eye
Always waitin’ for the other to come around.
Like the night you confessed, third beer in your hand
That you never could understand
Why I had to be different, the small town rumors goin’ ‘round.
CHORUS
We called it home, liked to pretend even though
It never really was for me, so I don’t come around
Now you’re alone and can’t understand why I can’t let it go
I’ll call you next Sunday if I’m around . . . around.
VERSE
I throw it in reverse, side swipe the mailbox
I’m guessing ten more years ‘til we talk
I hear the screen door slam – but I don’t turn around.
VERSE
Someday I’ll get a call and I’ll have to come home
Tell your friends who I am cuz they won’t know
And for one whole Sunday I’ll be around -
CHORUS
You called it home, I had to pretend even though
It never really was for me, so I don’t come around
Is it how life goes can’t get out of my way so the bad takes hold
I’ll call you some Sunday if I’m around . . . around.

“The Cross”
[VERSE 1]
The Passion accounts for Jesus’ trip to The Cross.
Jesus’ trip to the cross is The Way to a Godly plan.
Grant me the faith, to know that there is a Cross.
Help me know there is a loving I AM.
Help me know there is a loving I AM.
[VERSE 2]
There’re unknowns on the road to The Cross.
The red words guide me, so I can understand.
Make me selfless, enough to consider The Cross.
I love to hear the stories of the teaching I AM.
I love to hear the stories of the teaching I AM.
[VERSE 3]
What will happen if I can’t carry The Cross?
Will there be angels to give me a helping hand?
Grant me courage, to go to The Cross.
I want to follow the steps of the forgiving I AM.
I want to follow the steps of the forgiving I AM.
[BRIDGE]
The Way is to love others not expecting to get it back.
Our source of love is infinite, because it comes from an infinite God!
[VERSE 4]
There is suffering living on The Cross.
Help me live, through the hurt and abandonment.
Give me strength, to remain on The Cross
I can make it with the help of the great I AM.
I can make it with the help of the great I AM.

Barbacoa - The story of Gary, Wayne and Bruce
Bruce Fogelsong, 2010, Revisions June, 2025
Verse 1
Ever Saturday morning, Gary comes around
We hop up on our hogs and, we lay the hammer down
Head on over to Rosenberg, to pick up our friend Wayne
Three old boys a ridin’ down the road, with only breakfast on the brain
Chorus 1
Barbacoa, fresh tortillas, jug a coffee, scrambled eggs and refried beans
Tell your story, share your burden, bear your soul, and enjoy what friendship means
Verse 2
As he was sittin’ on a mountain, contemplating his desires
He realized what was missing, and what would help to stoke the fires
So after Bruce returned to Texas, prayed to God and asked his wife
He procured a motorcycle, cause he was ready for the ride
Chorus 2
Barbacoa, fresh tortillas, jug a coffee, scrambled eggs and refried beans
Tell your story, share your burden, bear your soul, and discuss what Jesus means
Verse 3
When he was young he was a wanderer, searching and alone,
But after Wayne met Linda, he knew his heart had found its home
And though he and Bruce and Gary dearly love their families
When it comes to breakfast tacos, it's just a cowboy trinity
Chorus 3
Barbacoa, fresh tortillas, jug a coffee, scrambled eggs and refried beans
Tell your story, share your burden, bear your soul, and explore what this life means

On my way to stay
Tod Anthony
Throw another cup to the trash in the back
I follow the moon and a line of white
Thought I heard your whisper soft and sweet
I yearn to hold you tight
I rub my eyes, on this dark county road
Another town fades from view
The engine drones on with a steady lonely tune
Now its time to get back to you
I'm on my way
I'm on my way
Things will be different now cause
I'm on my way to stay
with you
Stones and rocks hit under my seat
As the tires spin on home
Every now and then I see your smile
There in the picture of you on my phone
There's the church where we tied the knot
Almost home just a few blocks to go
Soon we'll be dancing on our front porch
Like many times we did before
I'm on my way
I'm on my way yes
Things will be different now cause
I'm on my way to stay
with you

Do we have to fight again like this tonight?
Just let it go it'll be all right
Do the stars have to fall from the sky above?

And I don't care who your daddy is
Don't let him start a plague or turn the moon into blood

And you would be the apple of my eye
But I can't part the Red Sea. I can't always be enough.
To give you an apocalyptic love

And I'll love you throughout eternity
But you ask if that girl was pretty, so don't make it World War III cause

Blinding Sun
Gone, down that road again… it’s driving me insane
You didn’t breathe a word
Tried, hard to find a sign… this road never ends
I thought everything was fine
You… didn’t see… got us lost, in spite of me
Our… love will lead… us from, the Blinding Sun!
Fire, hawked five hundred miles… faces chocked with smiles
Jamming all the while
Then, Kilgore threw a bone… led us far from home
Right into the Blinding Sun!
You… didn’t see… got us lost, in spite of me
Our… love will lead… us from, the Blinding Sun
From, the Blinding Sun!
“If we get lost again, it’s your own damn fault,” she said with meaning
“We’re still a long, long way from home,” she said in Gallatin
And… now… the compass sun is down…
And the wind has grown cold
Gone, down that road again… it’s driving me insane
You didn’t breathe a word
You, decide to let me drive… shortly after five
And we sort of lost our way!
You… didn’t see… got us lost, in spite of me
Our… love will lead… us from, the Blinding Sun
From, the Blind Sun… and home again
And Home Agaaaaaiiiiiinnnnn

[Verse 1]

Please look for a light down in my soul
The spectrum spreads its wings
What we see can take a toll
[Pre-Chorus]
Merging
Can be what destroys (but) vs can make us see more (oh)
Those curves
Unwrap a quiet joy
[Chorus]
We
Can find each other’s perfect light
We
Live to see each other’s perfect light
Stop looking at refractions
Of our biased view
And lean into beauty when the
angle hits just right (yea…)
Got to find each other’s perfect light
[Verse 2]
Light so plain at first vs Waves so plain at first
Slips through glass with angled grace
Bend and dance with me
To the rhythm of our sweet embrace

Whisper into bloom

Every thought of you… ‘cause

WINGS DON'T MAKE US ANGELS
Words and Music c2025 Melanie E Broussard
A one-legged bird learns to make it
Using wings that fit her like a glove
When she sees a worm she'll take it
Back to the nest to give it up in love
So all will rise above
CHORUS
Wings don't make us angels you know
No matter how hard we try
We must learn to love and lift every soul
That's the day we learn how to fly
Oh yeah, learn how to fly
We want to fly so bad we could taste it
When we fail our tears hit the ground
When we get a chance we waste it
All that pain keeps us earthbound
Time to go up not down
CHORUS
Bridge
Spread your wings and scatter love all around
If ya do, I promise you
Your feet will never touch the ground
CHORUS
Outro
Spread those wings and scatter that love
They'll be rejoicing in heaven up above
We gotta learn, we gotta learn how to fly..
We gotta learn, gotta learn how to fly.

I'll Be A Princess One Day
June
David Davenport
2025
[Verse 1:]
Mom brought out that dreaded box
And said, “sit down here girl”
I’m tired of your tangled locks
I’m giving you a permanent curl
“But Mom,” cried that little imp
As she tried to wriggle away
A Princess doesn’t look like this
And I’ll be a princess one day
[Verse 2:]
She frowned at that mirror
That little wisp of a miss
Trying to brush those ringlets away
“A princess doesn’t look like this!”
“How will I ever find my prince”
As she brushed with all her might
“He’ll want beautiful flowing hair”
But those little curls held tight
[Chorus:]
One day I will be beautiful
The boys will stop and stare
And when my prince arrives
I’ll be the answer to his prayer
One day I’ll be a princess
A princess wise and fair
I’ll enchant that handsome prince
With my long and silky hair
[Verse 3:]
Sure enough as she grew older
Lots of boys began to call
None worthy of a princess
So she ignored them all
Finally came another boy
He knew her from his dreams
Although he was not a prince
She knew him too, it seems
[Bridge:]
Can’t judge a princess by her hair
Or a prince by his family tree
A righteous heart makes her fair
Her love makes him royalty
[Verse 4:]
Their courtship was a whirlwind
Their love instant and true
Marriage was the next step
As the princess said, “I do”
A life of fun and adventure
Living the Good Lord’s plot
I love you, beautiful princess
Permanent curls or not
[Outro:]
A skinny little girl
With a permanent curl
Tried to brush them all away…

In nineteen sixty-three he picked my mom up
From her dad’s house in his old blue truck
First date, he knew right away
She’d be his soulmate
V2
So many trucks through the years
Each with a story of laughter and tears
Nineteen seventy-five they moved from L.A.
New jobs in Texas, is where they stayed
Pre-Chorus
Mom and us kids flew to Houston
Dad would drive the blue and white pick-up truck
With all the pets inside
Chorus
Daddy loved his pick-up trucks
Said they brought him so much luck
Started nineteen sixty-three
Planning his family tree
For Mom, my brother and me
Daddy loved his pick-up trucks (repeat in last chorus)
V3
One day in the month of May he showed up
In a black eighty-four pick-up truck
Drove it in the garage, parking in the back
Grinning like a silly ol’ Cheshire Cat
V4
Running a busy shop, trucks galore
Red ones, white ones, ‘till he closed the door
When he retired, he had one left
One he loved most was the one he kept
Repeat Chorus 2X

I’m glad he taught me how to fix ‘em up before he passed away
Now when I visit Mom, I go through the garage
I see that eighty-four pick-up truck, I say hello
Maybe one day, I’ll restore it, put it back on the road

To Always Kiss You Goodnight
Hey little darlin come and sit with me
It's time for you to sleep and have sweet dreams
The moon has kissed the setting sun
The dawn will bring another one
And I , I will try , to always kiss you goodnight
Come my little one say your prayers tonight
Your tiny eyes will be bright again in the morning light
I hope your innocence stays so pure
I pray you never see the cruelness of the world
And I I will try, to always kiss you goodnight
This big blue planet can be hard to understand
We’ll walk through this world together hand in hand
Hey little baby asleep in my arms
I’ll keep you safe, I’ll keep you warm
I hope you feel my loving embrace
Nothing on earth could ever take your place
And I, I will try, to always kiss you goodnight

Say I Love You
lyrics/music Gene K. Stewart
mini instrumental lead in
V1
Sometimes I get the feelin', I'm doing allright,
But other times It seems like I'm just loosin' the Fight.
So as I'm travelin' on life's road of up's and down's,
It makes me smile to realize, I've got you around.
Chorus
Your the bright star in my dark lonely night,
Your the one who makes me feel right.
I need you near me every night and day,
Thats why I just had to say,
I don't always do things exactly on cue,
But now I think the time is right,
To say I love you.
V2
So don't give up keep hoping,
I'll turn out just fine
And promise me no matter what,
You'll always be mine.

No I don’t always do things exactly on cue,
But now I think the time is right,

Plea Bargain
Guy Reed
There’s nothing that I’d ever done,
The single me out as the one ,
To take the fall for the others that were there.
It all seems so innocent ,
When I gave them my statement , I made the call the truth I would share .
The cops they did not understand my plea,
Leaving me no choice but to flee.
The cops kept going round and round,
They said they knew how it went down,
The judge would understand, just cop a plea,
After 30 hours straight,
I felt my spirit start to break,
I said, OK, please just set me free. I signed the papers to me they were handing,
I think I’m free, not understanding, I’m asking them, now can I leave? You’re not going anywhere,
Your confession is right there,
I knew then, that I had been deceived.
The cops they did not understand my plea,
Leaving me no choice but to flee.
Finally, then, it all sank in,
I was going to the pen.
Unless I did, something to delay, That’s when I saw my chance,
I grab the gun beside his pants, Shot them both and made my get away.
I don’t know how they got my name,
Why it’s me they want to frame,
I just couldn’t take it anymore, What’s done is done the die is cast,
I see the border there at last, Waiting for me like an open door.
The cops they did not understand my plea.
Leaving me no choice, but to flee.

Ferris Wheel
June
Dylan DuPont
2025
(Verse 1)
Well I sit here, with my head in my hands, and I can barely stand another minute.
And this pressure’s brought me to my knees, with all the strain it’s put on me, it’s like a nightmare and I’m living in it.
(Pre Chorus)
I may be down but I ain’t out, I pick myself up off the ground, you can always find a way to get back up.
(Chorus)
So never give up, never give in.
This life is like a ferris wheel, what comes down goes up again.
It goes round and round; you got your ups and downs, it don’t ever slow down, so take your time and take it in.
(Verse 2)
Why’s it easier to see, from the outside looking in? Feels like the beginning of the end for me.
And my whole world is crashing down on me, and I can’t see through the debris, I need someone to pull me free.
(Chorus)
And tell me never give up, never give in.
This life is like a ferris wheel, what comes down goes up again.
It goes round and round; you got your ups and downs, it don’t ever slow down, so take your time and take it in.
(Verse 3)
When you’re at the bottom, and you want off the ride, hang on a little longer and then you just might find.
The view is so much clearer, when you reach the top again, that worry don’t last forever, and troubles have an end.
(Chorus)
So never give up, never give in.
This life is like a ferris wheel, what comes down goes up again.
It goes round and round; you got your ups and downs, it don’t ever slow down, so take your time and take it in.

Thrown Into The Fire and Prayin For Some Rain
May
Lowell Adams
2025
Verse I
Sometimes life is good
Sometimes life is hard
You're lucky for a minute, losing for an hour
You play the cards you hold you try to minimize the pain
But we're thrown into this fire and we're praying for some rain
Verse II
A young man's looking for his love, looking for his queen
A sinner or a saint, or maybe something in between
But she's never quite enough to match division and his brain
Cause we're thrown into this fire and we're praying for some rain
Chorus
Thrown into the fire, praying for some rain
Stop drop and roll ,put out the flame
You got a roll with the paradox or you might go insane
Cause we were thrown into this fire and we're praying for some rain
Well, life can be a riddle, an apparent contradiction
Tryin to find some truth in what seems a bit like fiction
But trying too hard to make you die from the strain
Cause we're throwing into this fire and we're praying for some rain
Chorus
Thrown into the fire, praying for some rain
Stop drop and roll put out the flame
You got a roll with the paradox or you might go insane
Cause we were thrown into this fire and we're praying for some rain

A Part Of Me
1/11/2018 Kathy Robinson and Tim Koerber
V/1
I keep your picture on the wall, make believe some day you'll call
All I really have to do, is find a mirror to talk to you
Your voice is here inside my head, tellin' my heart, don't forget
All the ways you touched my life, and ways that you still do
Chorus
You'll always be a part of me
No matter what the future brings
You're stuck with me, I can't erase
What you taught me, to guide my way
I'm proud that everyone can see, you'll always be a part of me.
V/2
It's funny how we laugh alike, our DNA is so entwined
The wave that's running through my hair, looks like yours - I'm glad it's there
The flecks of green in my brown eyes, flicker like yours in the fire light
My best friend, my confidant, no I won't have to miss you, ('cause)
Chorus
You'll always be a part of me
No matter what the future brings
You're stuck with me, I can't erase
What you taught me, to guide my way
I'm proud that everyone can see, you'll always be a part of me.
Bridge:
I feel your blush... when I blush, and your tears roll off my cheek
You're with me every minute, love you watching over me.
So, I won't have to grieve.
Chorus
You'll always be a part of me
No matter what the future brings
You're stuck with me, I can't erase
What you taught me, to guide my way
I'm proud that everyone can see, you'll always be a part of me.
Fade (ad lib)
The very best of me
The whole world can see
You'll always be
You'll always be
You'll always be - right here
Right here in my heart
Yes you know you are
A part, a part, a part
A part of me
You always were, you'll always be
A part of me.....(yeah)

Does He Live?
May
Celso Alonso / AI
2025
“Does He Live?”
[Verse 1]
Hello brethren, are we the body
that lives, The Way of our Lord?
Does The Spirit live within us
as we walk out, our front door?
[Verse 2]
Is our DNA, all that different,
from the faithful, of the best-selling book?
Would they know us, by our actions;
if they came from heaven, and then took a look?
[Verse 3]
Are we busy, like the saints,
and grateful, for all that they gave?
Are we thankful, for the sacrifice
the disciples ultimately paid?
[Chorus]
Does He live,
Show it through your sacrifice.
Love the Lord,
be willing to pay the selfless price.
Bless the Lord,
Mighty in strength, who perform His word,
Praise the Lord,
Obeying the voice of His good word.
[Verse 4]
If Jesus, had a YouTube channel
only a few would subscribe,
but it’d get millions upon millions of enthusiastic likes.
People get the message,
but turn away because they won’t let go
of their self-serving pride.
[Verse 5]
It takes courage to be part of His body,
If you ask Him, you won’t be denied.
It takes courage to be part of His body,
If you ask Him, you won’t be denied.
We want to belong to His family,
but not take the actions, to be His faithful bride.
[Bridge]
We only die once, but we can live everyday!
[Chorus]
Does He live,
Show it through your sacrifice
Love the Lord,
be willing to pay the selfless price
Bless the Lord,
Mighty in strength, who perform His word,
Praise the Lord,
Obeying the voice of His good word.
Praise the Lord,
Obeying the voice of His good word.
[Outro]
Praise the Lord,
Obeying the voice of His good word.
Praise the Lord,
Obeying the voice of His good word.

Farewell to Easy
let the roses die
that you gave me for valentines
time to say goodbye to everything that was once mine
moving on is overrated
and everything’s so complicated
i don’t know where this is going
but i can’t be nonchalant
when you made me fall in love
and i hate the thought
that ill never be the same again
pack the baggage you left me
say farewell to easy
you love you lose
and that’s just how life goes
it’s nothing new
except i wanted it to be you
i wait by the phone in case you’d call me
i know it’s dumb but i can’t stop hoping
and i can’t be nonchalant
when you made me fall in love
and i hate the thought
that ill never be the same again
so here’s to moving on
from what you thought would be forever now it’s gone with the breeze
i’ll say farewell to easy
and maybe its stupid
to linger this long yeah i could be wrong but
i swore we could do this
was i foolish?
but i can’t be nonchalant
when i though you were the one
but now you’re gone with the breeze
i’ll say farewell to easy

I wish I had listened a little more when I was young
I had a heart full of lust
A head set on just having fun
If I had known just how much all things could change
I’d pay more attention to what all those older men say
Now take down my words and put them there into your book
Your life can feel picked up; turned round; shaken and shook
Now I understand you’ll probably just walk away
But please pay attention to what all those older men say
Dream on child dream away
and please pay attention to what all those older men say
Dream on child dream away
and please pay attention to what all those older men say
If I realized that my childish eyes looked out at the world with such vain
Then I cannot lie; I may have just tried to be more a beacon of change
But I was a fool and you will be too
It’s all just part of the game
Just keep in mind those lessons of time
And please pay attention to what the older men say
Dream on child dream away
and please pay attention to what all those older men say
Dream on child dream away
and please pay attention to what all those older men say
They say if it aint broke don't fix it
measure twice and cut once
Don't spend any wooden nickels
there's too many chiefs and not enough indians
if you lie down with dogs
you'll come up with the fleas
they don't teach these old dogs
new tricks like these
the squeeky wheel is the one that gets the grease
make sure the Juice is worth the squeeze
Dream on child dream away
Yeah please pay attention to what all those older men say

AS SWEET AS YOU SANG, by David Fahl
Intro
V1 It was a summer day in the city park
I was digging the light, you were feeling dark
The cicadas were singing, you were singing too.
You were losing your place in the song, I was losing you.
V2 Your long dark hair hanging loose down your back
You sat on the grass, my head on your lap
You sang so softly, I could barely hear
Words that I dreaded dancing lightly down into my ear
Ch The most beautiful song I ever heard was one I’d never desire
You singing soft in harmony with that summer cicada choir
The song it was ancient, as old as singing, as clear as the sky.
You never sang me hello as sweet as you sang goodbye.
V3 I walked home lonely that summer night
The streets had turned ugly, nothing looked right
Stopped in a place I knew, just to kill some time.
Try to drown out the echoes, with tequila and lime.
Ch The most beautiful song I ever heard was one I never desired
You singing soft in harmony with that summer cicada choir
The song it was ancient, as old as singing, as clear as the sky.

Curled up and hiding
Realizing
No one is coming to save her
She's locked up inside your mind

Smoking weed and jaded
Looking at the world with bitter eyes, sees hypocrisy and lies
She's locked up inside your mind
Been there this whole time

I think or I know.....you will find
You can change your mind
Gather those voices in your head
All those children you forgive
Don't let them have their way this time
I think or know? you will see
You can just set them free
Give them love they need to go
It's in your heart, don't you know

Six Feet Deep

Hand me a shovel
To strike at the ground
I'll take all my struggles
And bury them down
In a hole six feet deep
Covered with concrete
To make sure they never creep up again
To make sure they never creep up again
Many are the sorrows
Of those living in the past
You can't replace the time that's borrowed
By that uninvited guest
You oughta' lock the door
Throw away the key
Bury all
That misery
In a hole six feet deep
Covered with concrete
To make sure they never creep up again
To make sure they never creep up again
I'll take all hard feelings
And I'll put them in the ground
When the past tries to build bridges
I'll be quick to burn em' down
I'll light a match
Let the sparks fly free
Put my past
Where it can't bother me
In a hole six feet deep
Covered with concrete
To make sure they never creep up again
In a hole six feet deep
Covered with concrete
To make sure they never creep up again
To make sure they never creep up again

Silence is golden
Until the day it’s not
Question the power of the chosen
It might be the only power we’ve got
First they came for those who didn’t
Vote the way they did
Then the old and sick ones too
It’s all been mandated
Then they came for the black and brown
The red and yellow ones too
Shut up and sit back down
Do what we tell you to do…
Silence is golden
Until it is your turn
To follow the arrows set by the chosen
Step in the fire..
It’s time for you to burn... it's your turn.
There’s people in the street
Marching to a brand new beat.
Yea it’s good trouble.
Keep it nonviolent
But the message must be sent
Hey it’s good trouble.
Vox populi
Hear the people cry
How the hell did we get here
Look in the mirror..
It's time to face your fear.
Face your fear.

Finally time to move in your direction
Back in your arms my intention
Home with you every close of the day
Oh how I missed you is what I’ll say
I rub my eyes on this dark county road
Another town fades out of view
The engine drones on with its steady lonely tune
It’s time to be back with you
Add another cup to the backseat trash
As the night feels three weeks long
Thought I heard your whisper soft and sweet
Oh, how I yearn, for my pain to be gone
Sunrise peaking just above our home
An image I can’t let go
I remember when we kissed good-bye
The last time that I felt whole
Stones and rocks hit under my seat
As the tires spin on home
Every stop takes way too long
Your picture on my locked screen phone
There’s the church where we tied the knot
Down our street a few feet to go
Screen door slams I see my angels silhouette
Hear my name welcome home
Finally time to give you my attention
Loving you my intention
Home with you every close of the day
Now my loves here to stay

Left all the all the strife that they don’t wanna know
Turned off the radio
Entered the cave

Chorus

Getting worse all the time
And someday

Fleeing the empathy waiting outside
Hearts can be calcified
But somehow they know
Empathy feeds on the pain and it grows
Then there’s nowhere to hide
Chorus

Collecting clues along the way
Imaginary meaning
To present for you here today
I dig deep to tell the story
With imagination and clarity
Still you look at me kinda funny
Like some strange uncertainty
For some of you it's kinda easy
Just a mixture of words and thoughts

You ignore a tear, then wipe your nose.
I slide a paper towel roll your way
You half-laugh to fill the space
CHORUS:

We were working after breakfast on a song we started writing
Anyone who might have heard us probably thought that we were fighting
our words were full of passion I’m sure they sounded strong
But we are on the same side. It’s all about the song
My hand held a pencil his held his guitar
Both pushing for our chords and lyrics speaking from the
First we went with his words the next few lines were mine
But mostly it’s a mixture of both of ours combined
We threw our egos out the window and kept on ‘til we agreed
In our songs and in our lives,
we want harmony
Chorus
Harmony takes work and heartfelt words
Even when the tension builds and dissonance comes
If we both listen and we don’t get up and leave
Maybe we’ll find har - mony harmony harmony
The history of our country is that people disagree
But now if we think opposite, we see the enemy
Someone brings up politics so someone else starts walking
The only hope we have is if everyone keeps talking
It’s not a song we’re writing so we don’t have to agree
But it’s getting kind of scary there’s so little harmony
Harmony takes work and heartfelt words
Even when the tension builds and dissonance comes first
If we all listen and we don’t get up snd leave
Maybe we’ll find har - mony harmony harmony
I miss the days we could think differently
We’re all losing friends
Disowning family
I’m not sure either side can change their mind
But we could start by being kind
Harmony takes work and heartfelt words
Even when the tension builds and dissonance comes first
If we all listen and we don’t get up and leave
Maybe we’ll find harmony

Old Smoke
Old Smoke was listless, but he loved his mistress
She thought he was the smartest dog around
He used his nose to nudge her arm and with him there she feared no harm
Her baby, friend, and hero, and her clown
All day long he'd lie around, watching bugs crawl on the ground
He thought himself her knight in shining armor
And if a squirl came near the house or if he thought he heard a mouse
He'd bark and chase the thing he thought would harm 'er
Then one day his world up-ended, when she said, "no pun intended,"
"You're now 'embarking' on a new vocation"
His ears perked up, his eyes looked down, as he heard that awful sound:
"The sheep-herding school has accepted your application" -
"Oh no," thought he, "oh woe is me, what am I to do
She doesn't know that I'm afraid of sheep"
"I'll be so scared and petrified and so tied up with knots inside
Instead of barking all I'll do is squeak"
So off he went, kick'in and scream'in, ill prepared to face his demon
All hope of saving face was turning dim
But when he saw his intended prey and they saw him and ran away
He realized that the sheep were afraid of him
Oh, happy day, ca-loo, ca-la, this was his chance to run and play
No one could think him cowardly or lazy
As "Wonder Dog," he was now seen, the "brave defender of the Queen"
Yes, he would drive those sheeply villains crazy
But, alas, twas not to be, for when he saw an old shade tree
Old Smoke laid down to get a little sleep
The trainer told his mistress, sadly, "as a herder - he failed badly-"
"But he's the best I've ever seen at ‘counting sheep’"
Yes, he’s the best I’ve ever seen at ‘counting sheep’’ - Wah, wah!

Verse 1
If you give me a dollar, I will get me some gas
And motor my mustang all the way to Monarch pass
The view up there is spectacular, at least that’s what I hear
But living and dying here in Houston, that’s what I fear
Living and dying here in Houston, that’s what I fear
Verse 2
How did I arrive here, what was my road?
In a previous life I must have been a mosquito, a viper, or a toad
Once a year they hold this rodeo, and otherwise it's pretty dreary
Work down here in Houston for a few years, that was the theory
Work down here in Houston for a few years, that was the theory, yeah
Bridge
Wait a minute now …
Beautiful bayous and, warm winter sun
My friends and family are nearby so, when all's said and done
I’m gonna quit my complaining ‘bout the city where I live
I’m gonna stop my disdaining and start
Learning to give … hmmm
Verse 3
So I will put up a dollar, so we can get us some gas
And ride our motorcycles over to Aransas Pass
The view done there is exceptional, as far as you can see
And living and dying in Houston is now alright with me
Yeah, living and dying in Houston is now alright with me
Outro
But if I had my way, I would prefer to stay, right here in the Hill Country

Old Photographs
May
David Davenport
2025
[Verse 1:]
Spent a little time today,
Looking at old photographs.
Brought back a lot of memories,
A couple heartaches, a couple of laughs.
A few of you and me back then,
We had both just passed nineteen.
All I could think of was you,
All you could think of was me.
[Chorus:]
It’s all there in that picture book,
Stuffed with old memories.
Who’d of thought when we took ‘em,
They’d become our legacy.
[Bridge:]
Once we were on those very front pages,
Each year we move back a little further.
Grandkids are now taking our places,
As we deal with time, that ticking burglar.
[Verse2:]
Portraits of those early married years,
We both had our adjustments to make.
For a while it was nip and tuck,
But our love was too strong to break.
Christmas Evenings all alone,
And that trip up to Lake Louise.
Scenes of our love taking shape,
I love to reminisce of these.
[Verse 3:]
Then I came to those wondrous pages,
Of you and me and the kids.
Telling the story of our lives,
Who we were and what we did.
I loved them all as I relived,
Those scenes one after another.
But my favorite of them all,
Was my kids with their sweet mother.
[Verse 4:]
One of you in that rocking chair,
Where you sang soft lullabies.
Lots of happy birthday parties,
And the kids catching butterflies.
Pictures of the first day of school,
You tried so hard not to cry.
Soccer games and school dances,
Girl how fast did that time fly?
[Outro:]
It’s all there in that picture book,
Stuffed with old memories.
Who’d of thought when we took ‘em,
They’d become our legacy.
[End]
Who knew when we took ‘em,
They’d tell our love story.
Girl it’s our love story.

Hats And Boots
Guy Reed
[**Verse 1:**]
You walk into the bar, thinking you're so tough,
With a swagger in your step, thinking you're enough.
Got that Stetson on your head and them boots so new,
But there's more to being a cowboy, more than just the view.
[**Chorus:**]
'Cause a hat and boots don't make you a cowboy,
It's in your heart and soul, not in your clothes.
It's the grit and the ride, the stories you don't tell,
A true cowboy's spirit you can't buy or sell.
[**Verse 2:**]
You talk a big game, but you ain't seen the plains,
Never roped a steer or felt the driving rain.
It's the calluses on your hands, the saddle worn with pride, It's the life lived out under that endless western sky.
[**Chorus:**]
'Cause a hat and boots don't make you a cowboy,
It's in your heart and soul, not in your clothes.
It's the grit and the ride, the stories you don't tell,
A true cowboy's spirit you can't buy or sell.
[**Bridge:**]
It's the dawn breaking over that dusty trail,
It's the nights spent under stars, feeling small, feeling frail. It's the legacy you leave, the honesty and the trust,
It's the love for the land, in every turn of the dust.
[**Chorus:**]
'Cause a hat and boots don't make you a cowboy,
It's in your heart and soul, not in your clothes.
It's the grit and the ride, the stories you don't tell,
A true cowboy's spirit you can't buy or sell.
[**Outro:**]
So next time you think it's all about the style,
Remember it's the journey that makes it worth the while. For a cowboy's life is more than what you wear,
It's the way you live and love, and the way you truly care.

Verse 1:
I got 420 reasons to believe
That green is Godly, it’s written in the weeds
If you take a toke, it aint no joke
Come unwanted company
Just tell them green is Godly
It’s written in the weeds
Chorus:
(Forgive my) Holy Smokes (x3)
I swear it’s written in the weeds
Verse 2:
If you’ve been high in the Rockies
It’s plain as day to see
That Nature’s unforgiving
And grass has legalities
One miss-step and down you go
The Law catches up to all, you know
Just tell them green is Godly,
It’s written in the weeds
Chorus:
(Forgive my) Holy Smokes (x3)
I swear it’s written in the weeds
Guitar Solo
Verse 3:
There’s pork in the smoker, pot roast on the stove
Green herbs have been a hit since high times untold
If the Po-Po’s on the hunt Yo just be blunt
There’s been forbidden trees since Adam and Eve
Just tell them green is Godly
It’s written in the weeds
Chorus:
(Forgive my) Holy Smokes (x3)
I swear it’s written in the weeds
Bridge / Bonus Verse 4:
Way down in Louisiana down in Baton Rouge
There’s these open mics & they’re slinging the blues
We’re hitting those joints yeah that’s my point
Yeah we’re keeping it loose staying on that juice
Just saying green is Godly
And we’re spreading the news

Cocaine Shower
Cocaine shower, To start my day
Powder sugar , lies on my mirror
Whiskey chaser, To keep me going
Roll a fat one, to slowly me down
Roll a fat one, to slowly me down
Drifting down, this hazy life
Bathing in, these neon lights
No direction, no sad tell
Take me on, for a ride
Take me on, for a ride
chorus
Rehab ,behind closed doors
Withdraws within this fine resort
Same old view, different court
Third time plea, I'm not forsure
It's so hard, trying to change
Who you are.
It's so hard, to find a way
A brand new start
Train station, see me coming
Suitcase my only friend
City streets are unforgiving
Salutations, again
Transformation, again
I'm going home
I'm going home
I'm going home

SOMETHING THAT I DO, by David Fahl
Intro
V1 Every time I call you I talk to your machine
Everywhere I go they tell me you been on the scene
All your friends are giving me that sympathetic smile
I can't say much for how you're treating me.
V2 Watching how you’re walking when you're on your way to me
Listening to you laughing when you're feeling Friday free
Nothing I am telling you is really all that new.
Loving you's just something that I do.
Br Don't you worry about leaving me
There's nowhere you go some part of me won't be
I'll be doing fine I always find some company
There's always something I can do
Which is more than we can say about you.

Pennsylvania Rally
April
Jeff Riley
2025
I went to a Pennsylvania Rally
We all gathered in a field
Trump was gonna speak about our future
Or would it be his fate was sealed
Was about five minutes he'd been talking
When I heard some shouts in the crowd
They yelled, "Look up there, he's got a gun in the air!"
Then shots rang out loud
(Chorus)
Are these times we're living in all politically driven
Or is all this hate just an escape for a country broken from within
Trump turned his head in that instant
And looked death right in the face
That bullet grazed his ear
But he had no fear
He's in the hands of God's good grace
The shooter was on a rooftop
Spitting venom like a viper
After a few quick shots
His head was cut off by the bullet of a sniper
Are these times we're living in all politically driven
Or is all this hate just an escape for a country broken from within
No one was running from those gunning
We stood our ground it's right
Trump got up off the stage with his fist in the air
And yelled, "Fight!, Fight!, Fight!
Who could have planned this plot against 45
The deep state or the CIA
They botched the job thank God
He didn't end up like JFK
Are these times we're living in all politically driven
Or is all this hate just an escape for a country broken from within
Are these times we’re living in just politically driven
Or is all this hate just an escape for a country broken from within

Daddy’s Harmonica
by Molli McMills
He’s an old man now, but back when he was young
He could sure tell a story, with his silver tongue
He is quiet now but he’s back in glory days
When he picks up his harmonica and plays
In the early years, I was his little girl,
he made a great pony, the best dad in the world
He is tired now but everyone’s amazed
When he picks up his harmonica and plays
You should see the transformation, eyes lit up with joy
At first you see the old man there but then the little boy
He’s an old man now, but he lives a happy life
He still has his great loves, his music and his wife
She plays the piano ‘til he comes out of his daze
And he picks up the harmonica and plays
“Harmonica” Interlude
You should see the transformation time and time again
His eyes light up he comes to life the way he was back then
He’s an old man now, but he lives a happy life
And he still has his great loves, his music and his wife
She plays the piano until he comes out of his daze
And he picks up the harmonica and plays.
I love it then. He’s so happy when he plays.
