Attention: HSA Members
We had a wonderful turn out for our May 5, 2024, Face-to-Face Consolidated Meeting at Kojak’s Fine Foods where there were 18 members and guests in attendance in spite of the weather warnings this week. We especially want to thank everyone for spending time with your HSA friends, listening to their songs and giving feedback on their creations. We hope you had a great time.
Our Past President Jay Harris was the Master of Ceremonies at the Kojak location and did an excellent job of keeping everyone involved and interested. We sincerely appreciate those members attending for the first time and presenting their awesome songs.
We enjoyed listening to the many songs that were presented at the meetings and sincerely appreciated the audience for their amazing comments and feedback to the songwriters. The area for uploading songs closes Tuesday night May 14th, 2024. We currently have 11 songs posted on the website at www.houstonsongwriters.net . Please note “All Members” who are signed up on our website may review and comment on the songs that are posted through May 28, 2024 and “we encourage you to do so”. Voting for the May Song of the Month will open on May 24 and close May 31, 2024. Any member who has paid their membership dues for 2024 can vote in the monthly contest. You do not have to have a song posted in the contest in order to vote, but if you do, you must vote in that monthly contest in order to keep your song in the contest. We encourage all paid members to Vote in the monthly contests.
As a reminder, there is an HSA Songwriter Showcase on Monday, May 20th, 2024 from 7 PM to 10 PM at Dan Electro’s in the Heights, 1031 E 24th St., Houston, Tx 77009. There was a great turnout in April for the first one, and everyone seemed to enjoy the live music and camaraderie. Let’s make an effort to keep this going. Look for special announcements pertaining to this event.
