Congratulations to the July 2019 Song of the Month Winners, Jay Harris, for his song titled I THINK SHE KNOWS, and to, David Hanshaw, for his song titled I HEARD. Both winning songs will automatically be entered into the 2019 Song of the Year Contest. A special thanks to the 13 members who participated in the voting process.
HSA AUGUST MEETING
We hope to see you at the next regular meeting on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at JP Hops House, 2317 S. Hwy 6, Houston, TX 77077. If you bring a song for critiquing, please come early and provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the members. Doors open at 1:30PM and the meeting starts at 2:00PM. Please note that JP Hops House is an establishment that sells and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, however, it is not permissible for anyone to bring in any type of liquid beverages, including water.
The August mini-workshop will be given by Ron Tintner on the topic of Poetry In Lyrics. Come early so you won’t miss it. If you have any ideas on a topic for our monthly mini-workshops, and/or would like to present a live workshop, just let us know by contacting Andrew Fischer, HSA Workshop Coordinator.

HSA is very excited to have the amazing, singer/songwriter/teacher in the greater Houston Area, Ken Gaines, to present his awesome workshop titled “THE POWER OF CONTRAST: What would light be without shades of darkness? The same applies to any art or craft.
