HSA APRIL 2022 SONG OF THE MONTH WINNERS / HSA ON-LINE MAY MEETING / FACE-TO-FACE MAY MEETING

Attention HSA Members,

Congratulations to the HSA April 2022 Song of the Month Winners, Anna Beavers for her song titled BUZZARD’S ROOST TEXAS and to Jay Harris with his song titled HIGH ON HOPE. Honorable Mention, for the song with the 3rd highest number of votes goes to Buddy Trotter for his song titled WHY COUNTRY? A special thanks to the 21 members who participated in the voting process. You can hear the songs for the April monthly winners on the Home Page of our website at www.houstonsongwriters.net. Also, a recap of the April Meeting is shown on the Home Page under Monthly Meeting Information.

MAY ON-LINE MEETING - The HSA May On-Line Meeting is now open. You can access all of the open areas for the Song of the Month Entries on the Home Page by clicking on Monthly Submission / Commenting Schedule or clicking on the Members Area Page. Reminder: If you have not paid your HSA 2022 Renewal Membership Dues, you will not be able to upload your song until your dues have been paid. You may renew them on-line on the website at www.houstonsongwriters.net, on the Home Page or Members Area Page where indicated.

The May Schedule for all of the Song of the Month entries are as follows:

May 1 – 11 Upload songs for submissions and comments by members

May 1 – 15 Songs can continue to be reviewed by members

May 16 – 22 Songwriters can revise their song, if necessary

May 23 – 31 Voting for May Song of the Month

We hope that all members will participate in commenting on the songs as they are uploaded to the website. We would also appreciate the verbal comments and suggestions made at the Face-to-Face meeting be posted on the website comments area as well.

MAY 1, 2022 FACE-TO-FACE MEETING - We hope to see today, Sunday May 1, at JP Hops House, 2317 S. Hwy 6, Houston, TX 77077. If you bring a song for critiquing, please come early and provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the members. Doors open at 1:30PM and the meeting starts at 2:00PM. Remember, if you are presenting a song at the live meeting or entering your song in the Song of the Month Contest, your songs must be posted on the website by May 11, 2022. We will provide a Zoom Online participation for members who cannot attend the Face-to-Face meeting. Go to the Home Page of the website and click on the link for joining the Zoom Session. (Please note that JP Hops House is an establishment that

sells and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, however, it is not permissible for anyone to bring in any type of liquid beverages, including water.)
