Attention HSA Members,
Congratulations to the HSA August 2022 Song of the Month Winners, Pam Grisham for her song titled SWEET DREAMS and to Ray Wyatt for his song titled CHUPACABRA! Honorable Mention, for the song with the 3rd highest number of votes goes to Jay Harris for his song titled IT’S TRUE. You can hear the songs for the August monthly winners on the Home Page of our website at www.houstonsongwriters.net. Also, a recap of the August Meeting is shown on the Home Page under Monthly Meeting Information.
A special thanks to the 21 members who participated in commenting on the songs and the 22 members who voted. Anyone who is registered on the website may comment on the songs posted each month. HSA is dedicated to the art and craft of songwriting where songwriters can learn more about how to write a song; develop their own songs and help others develop through constructive feedback by commenting online or at the Face-to-Face meetings; meet new friends and collaborate with new lyricists and musicians. Every member has something to offer, no matter what stage they are in as a songwriter.
SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 ON-LINE MEETING - The HSA September On-Line Meeting is now open. You can access all of the open areas for the Song of the Month Entries on the Home Page by clicking on Monthly Submission / Commenting Schedule or clicking on the Members Area Page.
The September Schedule for all of the Song of the Month entries are as follows:
Sept. 1 – 12 Upload songs for submissions and comments by members
Sept. 1 – 27 Members may continue to comment on the songs posted
Sept. 16 – 22 Songwriters can revise their song, if necessary
Sept. 24 – 30 Voting for September Song of the Month
We hope that all members will participate in commenting on the songs as soon as they are uploaded to the website.
HSA FACE-TO-FACE SEPTEMBER MEETING - By now you have probably heard about the fire that destroyed JP Hops House, our long-time meeting place. At this point we do not know what the owners’ intentions are, but for the short term, we are going to be holding our Face-to-Face meeting on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Kojak’s Fine Foods, 1912 W 18th St., Houston TX 77008 (about a mile inside loop 610) at 2:00PM with our normal process and a little workshop.
