Attention HSA Members,
Congratulations to the HSA March 2022 Song of the Month Winners, Tim Bentley and Josh David Walker, for their song titled I WOULDN’T CHANGE A THING and to Paul Boedeker with his song titled SIMPLE THINGS. Honorable Mention, for the song with the 3rd highest number of votes, goes to Molli McMills for her song titled Straight Through The Middle Of A Broken Heart. A special thanks to the 24 members who participated in the voting process. You can hear the songs for the March monthly winners on the Home Page of our website at www.houstonsongwriters.net. Also, a recap of the March Meeting is shown on the Home Page under Monthly Meeting Information.
APRIL ON-LINE MEETING - The HSA April On-Line Meeting is now open. You can access all of the open areas for the Song of the Month Entries on the Home Page by clicking on Monthly Submission / Commenting Schedule or clicking on the Members Area Page. Reminder: If you have not paid your HSA 2022 Renewal Membership Dues, you will not be able to upload your song until your dues have been paid. You may renew them on-line on the website at www.houstonsongwriters.net, on the Home Page or Members Area Page where indicated.
The April Schedule for all of the Song of the Month entries are as follows:
April 1 – 11 Upload songs for submissions and comments by members
April 1 – 17 Songs can continue to be reviewed by members
April 16 – 22 Songwriters can revise their song, if necessary
April 23 – 30 Voting for April Song of the Month
We hope that all members will participate in commenting on the songs as they are uploaded to the website.
APRIL 10, 2022 FACE-TO-FACE MEETING - We hope to see you at the next regular meeting on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at JP Hops House, 2317 S. Hwy 6, Houston, TX 77077. If you bring a song for critiquing, please come early and provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the members. Most have been vaccinated at this point, but please, we ask if you have not been vaccinated to please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Doors open at 1:30PM and the meeting starts at 2:00PM. Please note that JP Hops House is an establishment that sells and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, however, it is not permissible for anyone to bring in any type of liquid beverages, including water. Please let us know if you will be attending the Face-to-Face meeting by replying to this email message. At this time, we do not know if we will be able to provide a Zoom Meeting participation for members who cannot attend the Face-to-Face meeting, however, you may still participate through the regular Online Monthly meeting on our website. Remember, if you are entering your song in the Song of the Month Contest, your songs must be posted by April 11, 2022.
