Anyone registered in the Members Area with a “Y” status is eligible to vote. Your fellow songwriters will appreciate your participation. Voting closes on Monday night, January 6, 2020. HSA is very excited to have the amazing, singer/songwriter/teacher in the greater Houston Area, Linda Shibes Schaible, to start the New Year off right for Houston Songwriters Members and Non-Members by presenting her awesome workshop on Writing Great Lyrics.
Topic 1: Get Your Songs To The Next Level: Easy Ways To Show and Not Tell.
Topic 2: How To Make Your Rhymes Sound Like A Pro
Linda says to, “Bring one of your original songs you think needs a little more "show" vs. tell, and needs some new, killer, fresh rhyme! Bring a lyric sheet (and music, if available). The goal is to give everyone an opportunity to focus on a song. She'll give examples and then you can sit down and work on applying them to your own song. Some before and afters would be great! Guitars welcome too!”

This is a wonderful opportunity for all songwriters who are interested in brushing up on, learning something new, or wanting to improve their craft, and actively participating in an informal setting with your peers. Here are the details:

Admission Fee: $10 for HSA Members and $15 for non-members. You can pay on the day of the workshop, cash or check only.

We hope to see you at the next regular meeting on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at J.P. Hops House, 2317 S. Hwy 6, Houston, TX. Doors open at 1:30pm and the meeting starts at 2:00pm. Topic for the mini-workshop will be “How to Critique A Song”. If you bring a song for critiquing, please come early and provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the members.
Reminder: ANNUAL RENEWAL MEMBERSHIP DUES - January is also the time for renewal of Annual Membership Dues.
