Our Houston Songwriters Association’s January 2023 On-line Meeting is now open! You can view the schedule for the January submissions, etc. by clicking on Meeting Information/Monthly Schedule on the Home Page on our website at www.houstonsongwriters.net .
The January 2023 Schedule for the Song of the Month entries are as follows:
January 1 – 15 Upload songs for submissions and comments by members
January 1 – 28 Songs can continue to be reviewed by members
January 15 – 22 Songwriter can revise their song, if necessary
January 23 – 31 Voting for January Song of the Month
We hope that all members will participate in commenting on the songs as soon as they are uploaded to the website.
FACE-TO-FACE MEETING - Our Face-to-Face meeting is next Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Kojak’s Fine Foods, 1912 W 18th St., Houston TX 77008 at 2:00PM with our normal process and a little workshop. If you bring a song, please provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the attending members. The doors open at 1:30PM and the meeting starts at 2:00PM. Only members who are current in their annual membership dues may bring a song to the meeting. Songs can be played live, or with a recording. Note, if you bring a song to the Face-to-Face meeting that has already been posted to the January uploads, it must be the same song. You cannot bring in a different song during the current month.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL - January is also the time to renew your 2023 Yearly Membership Dues. You can renew them on-line on the website at www.houstonsongwriters.net , click on the Members Area, top right side of the page, and click on Pay Your Annual HSA Dues. If your 2023 membership dues are not received by January 31, 2023, your status will be updated to “unpaid” and you will not be able to upload or present any songs until payment has been received.
