Congratulations to the HSA September 2022 Song of the Month Winners, Pam Grisham for her song titled THE RIVER WILL (Conscience Speaks) and to Ray Wyatt for his song titled BOTTLE ROCKET! Honorable Mention, for the song with the 3rd highest number of votes goes to Jim Gill for his song titled SKINNY DIPPIN. You can hear the songs for the September monthly winners on the Home Page of our website at www.houstonsongwriters.net. Also, a recap of the September Meeting is shown on the Home Page under Monthly Meeting Information.
A special thanks to the 18 members who participated in commenting on the songs and the 22 members who voted. We are very grateful to those members who may not be able to upload songs each month, but still take the time to support their fellow songwriters by reviewing, commenting and voting on the songs that are posted. Remember anyone who is registered on the website may comment on the songs posted each month.
OCTOBER 1, 2022 ON-LINE MEETING - The HSA October On-Line Meeting is now open. You can access all of the open areas for the Song of the Month Entries on the Home Page by clicking on Monthly Meeting Information /Monthly Submission/Commenting Schedule or clicking on the Members Area Page.
The October Schedule for all of the Song of the Month entries are as follows:
Oct. 1 – 14 Upload songs for submissions and comments by members
Oct. 1 – 28 Members may continue to comment on the songs posted
Oct. 15 – 23 Songwriters can revise their song, if necessary
Oct. 24 – 31 Voting for October Song of the Month
REMINDER: October will close out the HSA 2022 Song of the Month Season, so get your song uploaded as soon as possible. We hope that all members will participate in commenting on the songs as soon as they are uploaded to the website. Our Webmaster, Danny Liggett, has made the commenting area much easier to access and comment on the songs. Thank you, Danny!!!
HSA FACE-TO-FACE OCTOBER MEETING. Our Face-to-Face meeting is on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Kojak’s Fine Foods, 1912 W 18th St., Houston TX 77008 (about a mile inside loop 610) at 2:00PM with our normal process and a little workshop. If you bring a song, please also provide 30 copies of the lyric sheets to pass out to the attending members. The doors open at 1:30PM and the meeting starts at 2:00PM. Zoom connection is planned.
NOTE: Once the October Song of the Month Winners are determined, ANNUAL VOTING for the 2022 Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Collaboration Song of the Year Nominations will open on November 1 through November 28. You can get a head start listening to the nominees at any time by clicking on the Song of the Month area showing the nominees at the bottom of the page for each contest. Don’t forget to also listen to the October Winners that will be added on November 1, 2022.
